Heck... anything and everything really. food, absent mindedness, food, internet, food, folks natterings, food, folks behaviours, food, people watching (in a non stalkery way), food, TV, especially Doctor who (this weeks episode looks to be a major mile stone in whodom), food, astrological events seen with the naked eye such as an eclipse, food, friends, and of course not forgetting... food
Depends. When I have problems to concentrate anyway nearly everything could sidetrack me. ;-) And otherwise... music, music videos, watching my pets...
Actually, not too much. I don't have the time luxury of getting sidetracked. However, on the odd occasion, it's usually thought of the esoteric variety. My dad always said I think too much. :)
Lately, the internet. I'll be sitting here, thinking deep thoughts, thinking about what to make for dinner, thinking about shaving my legs....and look at the clock to find that 6 hours have passed....
Any kind of strong emotional relationship thing, particularly in the negative. Yesterday's shenanigans will distract me for days, if not weeks, requiring medication and limiting my productivity in a major way.
You can distract me or break me out of nearly any funk by getting me to talk in professor-mode about History, Druidry, Folklore, or Music. Or anything else I happen to know a lot about. I'm a sucker for someone appealing to my intellect because I thought/was repeatedly told I was stupid for all of my childhood and most of my early adult years.
Just make me feel intelligent over something I worked at studying successfully, and I'm yours. Sad, isn't it?
...Spook howling, Bri calling for me, a loud and sudden noise either in the apartment hallway or outside the apartment hallway, the phone ringing, and the tv playing.
I am a very good multi-tasker so not many things can really distract me all the way...except a family problem or family period that will make me drop everything i'm doing.
I plan to check livejournal and quickly browse through peoples posts and before you know it I'm replying to them and if their online at the time they reply back to me (this new 'tabs' thing at the top of your webpage is great because I'll also have my gmail account open so I'll see if they've replied) I'll respond back and before you know it I've been here for hours!
And books! I usually plan to only read a chapter here and there because I go through books like babies go through diapers but it never happens. I usually finish the book =(
