Question of the Day

What is your anchor when things go crazy?

Anchors Away

[identity profile] epiphany.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
If I'm in a healthy love relationship, that helps tremendously.

Also I've got great friends, my faith, my spiritual community and my mom and sister.

Great way to get rid of stress and crazies!

[identity profile] infinitywhisper.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'm still trying to find mine. .. not sure what it is right now.

I feel very unanchored.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
**hugs you**

I hope you find an anchor soon...

[identity profile] cmerun12.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
The Hubby, home, friends, and a steady routine.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a very good anchor :)

[identity profile] mighty-rontor.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
MY FISTS!!! RONTOR SMAAAAASH!!!RAAAAR!!! *crushes a car with his meaty fists*

kidding! My anchor tends to be reason. I try and sort things out if I have the time.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
:D

Reason and logic are good anchors, as long as the emotions don't take over...

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :D

[identity profile] mysticpickle.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I AM the anchor.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
But what do you hold on to?

[identity profile] rowanchey.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Sleep. Lots & lots of sleep. Probably the one time it's unhealthy to do so. ^__^

Hope you had a great weekend, luv.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
:D

If it works :)

It was ok :D

[identity profile] voldelange.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
i always have faith all will be fine eventually...i get lots of help from the music i listen to and painting, even if sometimes it seems it doesn't help, it does because i can look back and see i've done something :)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Expression is a great anchor :D

[identity profile] amberpixiewolf.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)

Myself and family.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You do have such great strength of character :)

[identity profile] kalquessa.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Sarcasm. Husband, cats and sister help some, too. But mostly sarcasm and the prospect of being able to tell a really good story after it's all over.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
:D

Sarcasm is fun too!

[identity profile] issabellablue.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
My bong, lol!. (Who said that?!)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] the-ravyn.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
My inner strength...and my wonder twin. :)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
:D

Both of which are awesome :D

[identity profile] crescent-fresh.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"well, i'll just get really high when i get home."

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
LMAO!

[identity profile] childeofloki.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
What are you talking about?
My anchor is everything going crazy. When all is chaos and people are on the edge of panic, I am at my best.
When things grow stagnant and stable, that is when I flounder.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You're just an erisian at heart...

[identity profile] childeofloki.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Chaos overwhelming
Mind, body, and soul
The embodiment of purity
Destroying Order's heart
The black dreams of liquid lightning
Eradicate the impure
With the corrupt.

[identity profile] childeofloki.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
And then some other things happen, and it's kind of Chaos and ambition.

[identity profile] ornjkitty.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Bryan.

When there is a REAL crisis, I generally have a pretty level head. I shut everything else off and go into "let's get through this alive mode". But ... I have a tendency toward the "tempest in a teapot". Bryan is able to give me that perspective, let me step outside myself for a moment and realize that that is all that it really is. He tends to stay calm no matter what. And that lets me know that I am getting all worked up over nothing. Plus, he is the one that remembers to get all the little details taken care of that I'm forgetting about because I am overreacting.

[identity profile] ornjkitty.livejournal.com 2006-09-19 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
He's priceless!

[identity profile] soulview.livejournal.com 2006-10-08 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
I give myself permission to feel unachored for a moment so it can just pass through and leave. Then it's easy for me to focus on me and my daughter's life and the rest of my friends and family as an anchor.

And then there are moments, I just drop the anchor inside myself and let it find a sturdy hold. Moreless to remind myself of the power I always have within.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-10-08 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
To be able to anchor within yourself is a great strength :)
