Question of the Day

Are there any repetitive things you do each day that seem to become automatic?

Automatic: Make the bed, feed the dog, wash dishes, do laundry, bag up the garbage.

Repetetive, but not automatic, i.e., I do them daily, but what I make or where I go or how much I do varies: cook dinner, clean the house, walk the dog.

for work and etc.
Wake up, wait for phone call making sure i'm up, take a shower (everything there is repetitive as well, done in a certain order x_x) dry hair once, brush, dry hair twice, bind back, brush teeth etc, dry hair once more and bun it. Get dressed, feed cats, water cats, grab whatever I'm going to eat during the night, put books etc in a bag, grab sodas, put them in a plastic bag and on top of books. X_X go to work, come home, drop bags, feed cats, water cats, either go online or go to bed. >__> my life is a repition

Smokeing. It wasn't until I got a gut full yesterday and went ahead and threw them out that I realized how many times I light one without even realizeing it or consciencely wanting one. It's just automatic situation equals light a cigarette even if I just put one out. I've made it 15 hours now and despite my hubby smokeing off and on in and out around me (mostly he tries to go somewhere else but with kids we meet up at the wrong times eventually...lol!) I am still really pumped about quitting and doing really better than I thought.

If I'm going out somewhere or going to work I put on makeup. It's done in the same order every single time, although colors may vary. Generally if I don't wear makeup, people ask me if I'm sick due to my complete lack of coloring except the bags under my eyes & my freckles. :)

Also, I use the same routines with smaller for waking up & bedtime. We love to snuggle in the morning on the couch and at night before she goes to sleep. Those are my best times of the day.

Small things, like unscrewing Mountain Dew caps, the way I light my cigarette, or all the hot-keys for Starcraft. These things have become almost instinct.

It's funny you should ask this question today, I just realised today that i hold my breath when i walk into work...?I don't know why, just until i make sure everyone is alive. I didn't realise I did that until someone told me today. funny eh? Canadian eh? lol

Sometimes at work I go on auto-pilot.
There are only so many ways to tell someone
"your brain is fried from too much crack.... try
taking a day off".

Automatic: Feed the cats and make sure they have fresh water, turn computer on, put kettle on, brush my teeth, complete making cup of tea/coffee followed by breakfast, sit at computer desk and check email. Dress myself. Ring my mum and check every things ok.

Repetitive: Clean the home. Make James breakfast in bed. Have shower/bath. Read. Make graphics. Go to work. Laundry. Eat. Make sure DVD collection is in alphabetical order. Groom the cats.

I'm so boring! =O
