Remember

11/11 at 11

What if the Nazis had won?

They say history is written by the winner, and to a great extent, that is true, but if they would have won, one of the things that would have happened is that there would be no acceptance of another colour, race, religion, or lifestyle. We would all be straight blue eyed blondes, or dead.

Many men and women died to prevent that.

They died in preserving the foundation for our way of life today.

We must remember those men and women who are always on active duty. Those who laid down their lives to help form the world we live in today.

Spreading the blatant prejudice that is inherent in trying to ban marriages for those who are not like you, does not honour the fallen, because any statement that gives one human being more rights than another is the beginnings of selecting a new master race.

We are not all the same. And those who want everyone to believe the same thing, and be the same? Well... It's been tried, and too many have died to stop it already.

Unless, of course, you think Hitler should have won, and we should all be Aryans. And yeah, if you do, then you are allowed to think that, because of the freedoms you enjoy.

Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind...War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today.
~ John F. Kennedy

Of course, there is more to this, in history. There are things the Alliance didn't do properly at the end of the war, and I am making this very black and white, but, as it is my journal, and these are my opinions, I can do it, again, because of the freedoms I enjoy.

While not taking away from the people who did fight in the war, I'm not sure if the Nazis would of held power for long, they based their ideology on lies and would probably saw sense in the end, Stalin was just as bad as Hitler and Russia are only years later getting better, it would of been a terrible thing for the world had Hitler won. But his master race was severely flawed in as much as he didn't have blond hair and wasn't even German himself.

:D

Who knows how people would have reacted, and how long a resistance would have taken to form...

But yes, I agree, eventually there would have been a revolution!

We should remember the Dead and what they did for us and at the same time we need to fight to make the world a better place. As we get past racism Homophobia takes it's place, better education is needed and some kind of curb on political correctness (political correctness is now doing as much harm as good).

It's made me so sad that somebody could steal the brass plaque of the war dead in Manchester last week, respect is needed.

Very well said!

And yes, people forget too easily, and dishonour themselves too often...

Wow, that was one of the most beautiful and eloquent posts I've ever read.

LMAO! :D

Yesh Babe! Long live the Aryona brother hood. *Gags* Whatever.

All I know is that this is the reason I argue with Raven. He feels it is none of the USA's business to go to war with anyone that does not concern them. But genocide is an act against mankind, as well as terrorism. We ALL Need to work together.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
In my view, it's NATO's business.

And yes, we all need to work together!

[identity profile] tsankich.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Mind if i squeeze in?

First off, Russia gave around 27 million casualties in WW2. Wich is more that any other country that took action in it. It's a tottal of around 80 million. Do the math. And your and our NATO did not took place untill 1997. The US military that took action in the WW2 did so only after it hit them in the head that this is bigger than them and there's no good in cowering and hoping it will pass. Hense, Pearl Harbor 1941. And 1943 was the actual time the US "invaded" (not mutch left to invade) Italy. All hail the "Great American Cavalry" wich we all know comes last. In the mean time Allied forces are pushing from back evertything not theirs back. But enough about that. Point made.

So. The US could not defent one fucking harbour. Ofcourse 'cos they were unprepared! Who would have thought they would actually take part in a World War? That's just crazy!

And today, it's the same thing. Let's make this as straight as can be. The US does not takes in to consideration. Simple as that. As Lily said to me, the US invaded Iraq becouse they were a threat. With balistic weapons and all that. So, um... I dunno. You ever thought about that if they Wanted they would have fired their weapons? No matter US or what the fuck. The States got to those weapons long after the invadion had began. So, lemme ask you. After you killed Saddam a couple of times. Why did he not fire them? And wich was the threat. Him, having weapons. Or someone pushing him to the edge?

This is just a point of view. And got too stretched allready. So yeah. None offence when i'm talking about things like that. I just get fired up.

Sorry about my spelling but i'm in a hurry. T-t-l-y.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2008-11-14 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I like your point of view... :D

[identity profile] tsankich.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. It's rarely that someone likes it. Maybe it's because i'm too harsh some times.

Great icon! and great message! Wearing my poppy today.

Thank you!

Thank you; an excellent read for me.

Having a deeply upsetting day locally. 7 neo's set out to beat 'anyone who looks' Latino, and found and killed someone.
For each one of these #'i+heads that takes freedom for granted and chooses to do evil, there is one serving in our country's armed forces, or being a student ...
Never forget, always remember that the evil still resides in humanity.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
*hugs you tight*

I despair, sometimes, at humanity...

[identity profile] agirlnamedluna.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
100% agreed

(the Soviets were almost as bad as the nazis, but history was written by the winners)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you...

And yeah... I wonder how a more balanced history would read...

[identity profile] agirlnamedluna.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. I often like to get accounts from all sides, but you know that the truth is always somewhere more or less in the middle, and even then!

The Russians were horrible, I've read from accounts of Germans - but they were quickly shut up and told they deserved it anyway. So much for justice and democracy and all that ;)

[identity profile] quotamour.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
This is beautiful.
Thank you, Ayoub.

*hugs*
