Question of the Day

What makes you cry?

[identity profile] leopardprints.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
I guess what would be the better question these days is,"What doesn't make me cry?"

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
*hug*

Let me switch it around for you then:
What makes you cry tears of joy?

[identity profile] avis-noctis.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
Extreme fatigue/exhaustion mixed with pretty much any kind of emotion.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the answer...

[identity profile] inmyocean.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
Pain, hurt, fear, happiness, other's pain, hardship, frustration, church hymns, Christmas carols, onions, failure, pressure, cruelty, death, saying goodbye.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
Christmas carols? I take it those are happy tears?

*hugs*

[identity profile] inmyocean.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know exactly. It's this enormous well of emotion when I try and sing them or hear them. It's embarassing especially at Matt's School Christmas concerts!

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
LOL!

I can just picture you :D

[identity profile] inmyocean.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
emotive music and writing.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
Me too... (yes, I cry, and no, I'm not afraid to admit it)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
:D

[identity profile] lilgeorgiawhore.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Stress. Whenever I get really stressed I get really emotional.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Stress can do that...

[identity profile] maerlann.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Not very much, I can be a bit of a hard hearted bitch..

Mostly when I get very very frustrated or angry. Or if I'm in a lot of pain. Doesn't happen very often though, which is a good thing from my point of view, as I hate crying.

Lol, I really do sound heartless.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL!

You're far from heartless El... :)

[identity profile] artist-writer.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Plucking my eyebrows.

[identity profile] artist-writer.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's never fun. LOL I was going to put a more serious answer, but I'm just not in the mood for anything deep this morning. hee hee

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
:D

No need for deep :)

[identity profile] mighty-rontor.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Beautiful music, and a well told story.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Both are good reasons...

[identity profile] fox-bard.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yawning.

Unless you mean in a deep, emotional way.

Then I have to say watching movies where beloved and courageous pets die in their tearful owner's arms.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Man... those are serious tear jerkers...

[identity profile] fox-bard.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ghost stories involving pets also pulls at me, if they are done well.

There's this one ancient episode of Highway to Heaven that used to make me bawl everytime I saw it. Actually, I don't know anyone who didn't bawl after watching it, including my father!

Dad, son and dog (St. Bernard) on camping trip get involved in a car accident and end up off road in a forest ditch and no one can find them. Dog manages to get out and find Jonathon and Mark. Dog leads them to Dad and kid. They get there just in time, as usual. Mark tells the father that if it wasn't for the dog, they would never have found the wreck. Dad looks up at Mark, and says, "Can't be... Boomer died in the accident." Cue video image of dead dog in the back seat of the car. The ghost dog is now no where to be seen.

((This is enough to bawl right here, but wait! There's more!))

Mark and Jonathon are talking after everyone is safe. Mark says something wistful about the dog, to which Jonathon says, "Don't worry, Boomer's home now." Cue video from the broken metal of the car crash to that of the ghostly dog superimposed over clouds, cocking his head and barking encouragingly, before cutting to black.

((Dammit... that still gets my eyes moist. ::sniffle::))

I remember that episode...

*sniffle*

Things that make my kids cry.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
A very poignant answer...

[identity profile] suburbiadaze.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the fact that you make me look up words in the dictionary.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL!

Dictionaries are great :D

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, just tweaked the colours :)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :)

- Wildlife documentaries. Some cute little baby thing always dies of something or other, and they always show the mommy animal looking all bereaved and at a loss. Weebling ensues on my part. I got mascara absolutely everywhere when I went to see "March of the Penguins" (which is an awesome movie, by the way).

- Sad partings in books and movies, esp. deaths (if well-executed, that is). Not to spoil the Dark Tower series for anyone, but the last book made me so (SO!) sad. The poor husband would come home, find me on the couch weeping with it, pat my head and say "I'm sorry whoever it was died, I hope they come back alive soon or something. Want a kleenex?"

- Life. Occasionally it refuses to adhere to my plan for it, and this makes me upset and prone to irrational bouts of petulant weebling. This happens about once a quarter, I have one night during which I hate life, and then it's back to normal and everything's fine.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
The husband knows well :)

[identity profile] innerly.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
anything and everything... i have good and bad tears

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-07 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
May the good tears always outweigh the bad...

[identity profile] pandoralily.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
stupidity. emotion. raising my voice. people not hanging up costumes. journalistic writing. life.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
People not hanging up costumes?

That makes you cry?

[identity profile] pandoralily.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
when i have to stay after for about thirty minutes i could spend doing homework, costing me my sanity?
yes.

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Now it makes sense!

[identity profile] huggscancer.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 10:01 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com 2006-03-09 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
