I don't know exactly. It's this enormous well of emotion when I try and sing them or hear them. It's embarassing especially at Matt's School Christmas concerts!
Not very much, I can be a bit of a hard hearted bitch..
Mostly when I get very very frustrated or angry. Or if I'm in a lot of pain. Doesn't happen very often though, which is a good thing from my point of view, as I hate crying.
Ghost stories involving pets also pulls at me, if they are done well.
There's this one ancient episode of Highway to Heaven that used to make me bawl everytime I saw it. Actually, I don't know anyone who didn't bawl after watching it, including my father!
Dad, son and dog (St. Bernard) on camping trip get involved in a car accident and end up off road in a forest ditch and no one can find them. Dog manages to get out and find Jonathon and Mark. Dog leads them to Dad and kid. They get there just in time, as usual. Mark tells the father that if it wasn't for the dog, they would never have found the wreck. Dad looks up at Mark, and says, "Can't be... Boomer died in the accident." Cue video image of dead dog in the back seat of the car. The ghost dog is now no where to be seen.
((This is enough to bawl right here, but wait! There's more!))
Mark and Jonathon are talking after everyone is safe. Mark says something wistful about the dog, to which Jonathon says, "Don't worry, Boomer's home now." Cue video from the broken metal of the car crash to that of the ghostly dog superimposed over clouds, cocking his head and barking encouragingly, before cutting to black.
((Dammit... that still gets my eyes moist. ::sniffle::))
- Wildlife documentaries. Some cute little baby thing always dies of something or other, and they always show the mommy animal looking all bereaved and at a loss. Weebling ensues on my part. I got mascara absolutely everywhere when I went to see "March of the Penguins" (which is an awesome movie, by the way).
- Sad partings in books and movies, esp. deaths (if well-executed, that is). Not to spoil the Dark Tower series for anyone, but the last book made me so (SO!) sad. The poor husband would come home, find me on the couch weeping with it, pat my head and say "I'm sorry whoever it was died, I hope they come back alive soon or something. Want a kleenex?"
- Life. Occasionally it refuses to adhere to my plan for it, and this makes me upset and prone to irrational bouts of petulant weebling. This happens about once a quarter, I have one night during which I hate life, and then it's back to normal and everything's fine.

Unless you mean in a deep, emotional way.
Then I have to say watching movies where beloved and courageous pets die in their tearful owner's arms.
