First love – I was working in a supermarket called Internationals, she was on the checkouts in a uniform that was too big for here, we got chatting and I was with her for about a year, this one hurt me.

Current love – I picked her up outside McDonalds (classy huh) and we went for a meal and a drink, she had never really been treated like that before, I was way overdressed for the occasion.

ROFL.

It was at a party, he was drunk as a skunk (which is rather unusual for an Italian - excessive drinking is traditionally frowned upon here) so much so that he ended up being sick in the kitchen (not mine, thank goodness). He had previously pent most of the evening crying on girls'shoulders that he was "feeeeeling lonelyyyy".

After such a flamboyant first impression, how could I possibly resist?
:)

Funny enough, his first words to me at that party - that was before him getting drunk (on a single glass of sangria, I may add) - were "Are you married?".
He'd just sampled some of the food I had brought in...
Eleven years later, the answer is YES.
To him.

First love - was complicated. He was a missionary 15 years my senior, but I just knew. I remember his shy smile when we first met and the quiet, gentle persona. We still write to each other - he's still a missionary and one of two very close friends. And, part of me will always love him and he knows it.

Current love - Dave was working in the burger van at the Pagan gathering I attend in the summer. His nickname was "the naked chef" as he wandered around in the nude (its a clothing optional camp) but the first thing I remember is the sad eyes feigning happiness and the spark I felt when he brushed my hand giving me change. The second thing was without doubt his highly gropeable bottom :oP

I couldn't stop thinking how beautiful she was and how I finally met her after 8 years! I wrote an entire post about it a little over a month ago.

My Bryan: Well, the first thing I noticed, of course, was his height. But how gorgeous he is came in very close second. Every second of every day since, I know how very, very lucky I am to have found him. And given how rough the past few years have been, that's something!

My OSO: I'd been told that he was a very shy and somewhat strait-laced person, so I was kinda walking on eggshells trying to make a good impression and give off "non-scary" vibes. We were going cave exploring (totally guided tourist cave, lights, guardrails, the works). So, we get in the entrance, and the combination of the rather noticeable slope and the constantly wet floor had me in a full-blown panic attack in five seconds flat. Add to that it was the first time in six months I'd worn hiking boots instead of canvas sneakers or loafers (all that weight on my foot had me kind of off-balance), and I had a 16-lb baby strapped to my front (throwing my center of balance TOTALLY off)! So much for me convincing him how normal I am! I think I spent most of the tour with my eyes shut, muttering under my breath (rather unconvincingly) "We're going to make it out of this alive. REALLY we are!"

His eyes. He has very clear and startling blue eyes. They are very expressive and hold the universe. I remember his mouth...he has beautiful lips. His back...he has a very strong back, very solid... His hands...gentle, protective, strong... *sigh* I don't know, it was so long ago I first saw him. I think it was really his eyes and hands and posture. I honestly wasn't that attracted to him at first. But I remember those things specifically. When began to hook me though wasn't physical appearance. His sense of humor was the first thing that made me want to be around him. And his mind. And his compassion. His honesty. His dependability. His love and constancy. It wasn't until he told me he loves me that the physical attributes began to draw me in. And now I am really missing him..

With John it was when I got my first hug from him in the airport. He saw me coming a mile away because of the boots I was wearing... hehehee.. I saw him... I smiled.. he smiled... and when I finally was face to face with him and he hugged me for the very first time... I knew.. KNEW.. I had finally come home.. *dreamy sigh* That was the best..

however the night he asked me to marry him was incredible too.. he actually made me speechless..

Current love: Without a doubt the most shocking, startling, do-a-doubletake blue, blue eyes I've ever seen (this is his LJ userpic here that I horked for this comment, hehe.) The eyes and his long, dark hair did it for me. Once he stared up into my eyes just like in this pic, it was all over for me. I've never fallen in love so hard in only a week before (I avoided love - I didn't want a relationship, only fuck-buddies since my divorce 10 years ago).

First love: We were friends first in English class in high school. He was the class-clown and I was his 'accomplice'. I thought he was kind of cute, but I didn't really like blondes.

Mike and I were introduced by mutual friends. We had been talking on the phone, exchanging text messages, etc for a couple of days by the time we actually first saw each other in person.

I was sitting on my friend's front deck when he drove up. He walked around the front of his truck, his eyes boring into mine. He walked up to the deck, still looking deeper into my eyes than anyone ever had, and asked me, "Are you Lorena?"

I said, "No. I don't know who you are talking about."

hahahahaha

I was at a point where I had given up up all but the last inch of hope that I would ever find someone in this life. Xandre called up and invited me for sushi with some friends of his and at the restaurant I saw this beautiful, busty red-head in a dark blue dress draped all over him. I remember thinking, "I guess that that will never happen to me. It should have happened by now if it was going to. What a lucky prick."

It's not that I was jealous of him as much as I was feeling like I was somehow damaged because in a period of something like 23 years I had had 3 women interested in me. The longest leg of the drought was 19 years. And I was what all the hot chicks were complaining that they didn't have: a nice guy who was funny, respectful, held a steady job, and not a coke-head. I really hated the female mindset. I wanted every single woman out there to have every single day-time talk-show cliche horror story happen to them in spades.

And then I saw here there with her beautifully curled hair leaning on Xandre and somehow, I found myself enjoying his good fortune vicariously; and for that night, my volcanically misogynistic loathing was quelled. I thought, "Wow, she seems pretty nice." That was a really good night.

Another really good night was when she said, "Oh, shit!" when I proposed to her before she said, "Yes!" a few seconds later.

[grin] First time I saw my husband... uhhhh... that depends on which "first time". See, there was the first time when I was 9 years old. He was 11. He came zooming through our site at the trailer park, running over our Barbies with his bike because his little sister was playing with my little sister. Evil brat of a boy.

First time I saw him when we were adults, just before we started dating... He was the very, very quiet man in the booth at Denny's. Long hair in a ponytail, kind of slumped, just watching people talk. I remember thinking I was going to make him love me as a challenge. hehe He won... I got hooked. :D

I just came from teaching a seminar this morning. One of the other teachers there who I've just hung out with from time to time took one look at me this morning (she hasn't seen me for a week or so) and she grabbed my hands and said, "What has happened? What is going on with you?" It surprised me, and I said something along the lines of, "What, do I look like I just rolled out of bed or something?" trying to make light of it (because that is what I do). And she said, "No. Something is really different. Your eyes look different, and everything about you has shifted." I almost started to cry, but it was about time for me to start doing this training seminar (I was teaching it), so I just shut down again. She is going to come over tonight with some tea to talk. I guess this has had a bigger impact on me than I realized.
