Ten things I know about the mosque - By Roger Ebert (via [ profile] reannon) Definitely worth a read, especially points 1, 2, and 5.
AP Standards Center issues staff advisory on covering New York City mosque - We should continue to avoid the phrase "ground zero mosque" or "mosque at ground zero" on all platforms. (We’ve very rarely used this wording, except in slugs, though we sometimes see other news sources using the term.) The site of the proposed Islamic center and mosque is not at ground zero, but two blocks away in a busy commercial area. We should continue to say it’s “near” ground zero, or two blocks away. I downloaded the first of the Doctor Who Adventure Games this morning... Sorry to any Doctor Who fans outside of the UK, though, only we can get them for free!

Played the first level of City of the Daleks... It's fun! The graphics aren't much to write home about, and the animation stutters a little, but the story seems good so far... Very excellent, for a freebie! :D

Oh, and...

The awesome [ profile] arianesherine has put this book together, and it promises to be a blast!
The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas is the ideal Christmas present – it’s funny and thoughtful and full of your favourite atheists, and with 42 contributions there’s something for everyone. Amazon are currently selling it at 35% off (just £8.44 for a hardback with free delivery). It’s fairly clean and friendly too, so is suitable for almost anyone, and it’s also full of jokes from page 1 onwards, as well as quotes from great atheists throughout history.

You can also join the Facebook Group, and be happy that a purchase will also contribute to the Terrence Higgins Trust, and help to provide even more people with HIV testing, medical advice, legal advice and emotional support.

Here's a very good review of the effect of twitter...

A quote for the article ...but the real appeal of Twitter is almost the inverse of narcissism. It's practically collectivist — you're creating a shared understanding larger than yourself.
