Maleficent is my all time favorite villian. I collect her, like a mad woman! After her is Jack Skellington, but he really is not a villian.

Me.

If you're talking about a fictional character - too many to list. I like/prefer the villain to be an anti-hero. It does so much more for plot twists.

Ah. now THAT's an interesting question. I have to chose only one?

Currently - Harry Stark - Torture Gang Head from Nick Arnott's 'The Long Firm' which I just finished last night - a Jewish, homosexual, manic depressive 1960's London gang leader - with a heart and soul.

Historical figure: Basil II the Bulgar Blinder

I think the Batman movies had some great villains in general. I liked Danny DeVito as the Penguin the most though. Also, I really couldn't leave out Darth Vader, although the second trilogy (Episode I-III) sort of made me think twice about that.

In Literature, I think Moriarty makes a nice villain as well.

And another thing - He's far from a favourite, but while we're compiling lists of villains, Ole G-Dubla ought to be there near the top of lists of people who deserve to be hated and despised.

We've been watching the re-runs from the start on More 4. James Gandolfini plays him as a character who is a nice guy, an old fashioned family man, laughing and joking one minute, and then instantly switching to somebody who can strangle a man to death without raising a sweat. Scary.

Ooooh - I love the villains! So many to choose from! My all-time favorite has to be André de Medici, of course. If he counts - he's more of an antihero than a true villain... and in that same category, Lestat is a close second. Voldemort is a good baddie, too. Loved Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Maleficent is the best Disney villain. I'm sure I could think of more, but my brain is focused on getting outta here!

But there are so many wonderful villains! ;)

Vader's already been mentioned. Blofeld was deliciously evil.

But I think I'm going to have to say Lindsey McDonald.

doctor doom. i hated seeing him ruined in that fucking movie. although he's really only my favorite because i came up with a bunch of comedy sketches with him as the recurring character. my favorite was dr. doom trying to get a shoe deal.

i also love venom, because he's a villain that thinks he's a good guy.

There's too many to choose from. You have horror movies to cartoons to comic books, even computer games!

Lestat. The Joker. Venom. Lex Luther. Cat Women. Hannibal Lecter. Psycho Mantis. Wesker. Sephiroth.

So, so many great ones over the years I couldn't possibly one favourite.
