What gives me faith is when people act to provide a miraculous good for someone else during times when only the bad things get press.

A lot of small(and incredibly personal) experiences mostly. Although the near death experience I had at 22 had a huge effect on me. But all that was just bringing me back to a denied faith (denied mostly out of misplaced anger).

My initial faith was something I just knew...it's hard to explain.

I may regret saying this, but I have no faith.

Sunrise.  It means I have one more day to make a difference.  A difference that is not measured by magnitude, but by the effort put into it.  It can be as simple as bringing a smile to someone's face or as complex as talking a suicidal man down from a bridge.  One does not supercede the other, because either way, someone's spirit was put on the path to healing and that's all that matters.

Prayer. Once again, I have irrigation water, and I can give my dad a hug, thanks to prayers answered.

Waking up knowing that there is at least one person out there who I can laugh with and enjoy life with no matter what is that thing gives me faith. That's a gift from God or whoever you choose to believe in.

Life in general - the subtle and infinitely complex interactions between everything around me, the continual ebb and flow of the energy of everything. Never ceases to inspire and renew me into new acts of creation with my own energy. :)

That incredibly rare occurance when I witness someone doing something nice for another for no reason beyond it being a nice thing to do. I have little faith in the human race, but once in a blue moon....

Since faith means hope, what gives me faith in the future, if you will, is the fact that there are more homeschoolers/unschoolers every year, according to reports. A good tonic for the overly cynical.

My husband, my family, cats, and occasional acts of kindness I see in others. Unfortunately, those last things are in short, short supply nowadays.

My family. The strength and courage I see in my mum. The kind acts my father shows towards others. James and the love he has for me.
