Do you blame yourself for things that are out of your control?

I've had several very difficult lessons on why I can't control things. Now that I've accepted that the only thing I can control is myself, I find it easier to let a lot of things go.

So, no, I don't blame myself for things out of my control (although according to the chaos theory there was the one time I sneezed...).

No. That's effing stupid to do that. In spite of that, if it's bad, I still feel bad if I can't help fix it.

I totally used to. Spent my whole life doing it. Up until July 24/25, about two weeks ago.

It's like growing wings and being truly free, or breathing deep for the first time after a life of shallow breaths.

War in Iraq? My fault. Aids? My fault. Recession? My fault. Paris Hilton's celebrity? My fault; and I'm so so sorry....

I tend to overthink things (like a lot). And I tend to, one way or another, come up with a way of thinking that things are my fault most of the time. It's this perfectionist thing I have where I need everything just so... And when it isn't (even if it's because of outside influences), it's my fault.

So, yeah, my answer is YES. DEFINITELY YES.

I'd like to say no, but that really wouldn't be the truth. =/

It really depends on what exactly it is. There's a few things that I might, but most of the time I don't.

In a wider context...nope.

Unfortunately I do that way too often. Actually I *know* when I´m not responsible, but I still react otherwise. I´m working on it though.

That depends on what it is. I tend to blame myself if a situation was first in my control and could've been changed, and I didn't do anything about it in time.
