For meeting people, interacting, it´s easier for me on the computer than in real life because of my social anxiety. For improving/practising my english, getting things off my chest, clearing my head, but also for sharing positive things in my life. No matter what you´re writing about here, you´ll always find someone who´s interested in it/in the same stuff or who made similar experiences.
These are actually 2 different questions in my world. ;P
I blog because I am a bit of an attention whore (in case you hadn't noticed); I find the feedback a good spur to continue writing; I'm a very social creature who prefers to deal with her interaction with others in small doses.
Journalling, to me, means paper journals, which I have kept since I was 11. At last count, I've filled 184 notebooks of various shapes and sizes over the course of the intervening 24 years. I've had fallow periods, usually after journals were stolen and used against me (my divorce was a good example of that, as was a subsequent relationship). I'm getting back into it again slowly, but it is intrinsically such a part of who I am, I will never give it up completely.
with a face like that you sooooo should blog more often! We call need crazies - well your fellow nutters like moi need affirmation that we're not alone.
For many reasons. At first, it was because I was told it'd be good for me, and now.. it's because I know it's good for me. I've learned how to open up about my thoughts and feelings instead of keeping them all bottled up. By learning how to open up in my LJ.. (slowly at first) I was then able to learn how to open up more with my friends. And while I still struggle with some issues when it comes to opening up, and I still keep a lot inside and bottle some things up, I'm still way more forthcoming than I once was.
So it's a way of .. sharing my thoughts and feelings. And a way of boring people with how much I suck. And a way of keeping in touch.
And in the last couple of years.. it's also become a way to make new friends online.. because I've been lucky enough to meet some super people via lj!
