Dear Livejournal,

In the five years I've been a proud member of this site, I have learnt a lot. Not just about people, and the way life is lived around the world, but about myself. I have discovered more about me through my discussions and friendships here than I ever thought possible. A friend of mine once said that Livejournal is a place where you learn about people from the inside out. There are people here I love dearly as friends and kin, but I would be hard pressed to recognise in a crowd. That is the beauty of this amazing community.

Please add my user number (540667) to corto's letter, as he has put so much more of what I've been thinking down into words.

May this site, and community, live on for many years to come.

Strike Day: Part 2 - The second public post

Do you know what pisses me off about this strike?

It's how everyone is talking about the rights of free users.

I call BULLSHIT!

Yeah, I said it.

People will still be able to have free accounts, just with advertising. If you go to myspace, facebook, greatestjournal, or any other site, YOU WILL GET ADVERTISING.

Yes, there are issues regarding how the information was communicated, but people are also seeming to forget that the change is NOT retroactive.

I wasn't going to post a QotD, but here's one...

Why should livejournal end up raising the costs for paying members just so free people get a page without ads?
