Only so much as that particular person makes of it. Having said that, I do believe, and passionately so, that every single human being must be allowed the chance to grow as a person.
This is like that question "Okay, suppose either you have to die or 10 random people, which do you choose?" Then it gets bumped from 10 to 10,000.
I don't know if you can put a price on a human life. Not that they are priceless, but I think it changes depending on the person who is doing the judgement of the worth.
In relation to what? Not enough information :) or whatever you deem it is worth...whichever you prefer. What is a dog's life worth? What is any life worth? If all things are not sacred and special then is anything? How can one make judgements on another's life worth? I, personally, can only judge what is good for me..I try to leave others to be their own judges as well :).
that's a decision each of us should take for ourselves... right now i wouldn't sacrifice my life for no one and nothing...i can't be sure it's worth it...but when i'll have a child, maybe i'll think that my life is worth sacrificing for him...
Decidedly. The actions and choices of the human in question influence the worth of his/her life. To give equal value to the lives of, for instance, a serial killer and a four-year-old would be...questionable.

Date: 2006-03-28 11:36 am (UTC)who see the other side and do not see an enemy but another human being who is deemed a sacrifice for freedom ...
Ask the person dying from an incurable disease and their loved ones who can only stand by and watch them slowly fade away ...
Ask the mother who holds her dying child in her arms wishing her own life in exchange ...
I bet there are many many more scenarios.
And many many more answers depending on which eyes and hearts are seeing.

Date: 2006-03-28 12:12 pm (UTC)The men and women who fight walk a very fine line when it comes to judging the worth of a human life. It's sad that they have to.
*hugs*
