Hmm... not sure, I think we have to trust our instincts, but I guess I always question (overthink) my motives or mood behind the instinctive feeling. Sometimes I think I us my instinctive feelings as a way to let out my weaker attributes, such as fear or anger.

not sure...
i don't think it's good, because thinking we start doubting it's best to fallow the instinct and sometimes it's should go with it...
sometimes i realize that thinking too much make life more complicated, yet sometimes it's been proofed a good thing I think a lot before fallowing an instinct...

In the end it depends where the instinct comes from...

Soemtimes. If you're about to make a decision based on that instinct that would normally go completely contrary to what you would normally do, maybe. Sometimes your instincts are trying to help you.

I do think that people tend to over-think the obvious.

I think thinking upon an instinctive feeling is a good thing but not necessarily overthinking one. By overthinking we tend to tie ourselves up in unnecessary knots and it erodes the natural beauty of instinct.

what instinctive feeling are you overthinking this morning? :)

mmmm, I think if we over-think, then the original 'thought', which may be the best, could be lost. diane

You know me, I overthink everything, love :D
But today, it's been my instinctive trust of everyone, I think I trust too easily, and I leave myself too open...

I like your answer hon :D

As an example....words to a poem or lyric...when the words flow, we write them down, right away...now we may make small changes later, but if we waited or thought about it, then, at least for me, the original is lost.

And there is the wisdom in thought of 'instinct', without that, there is a heck of a lot of danger. diane

You know my own trust issues so I don't need to go into them here in comment ...

I think we should guard ourselves against haphazardly giving away our trust to anyone and everyone because some people really aren't worth it. BUT I do believe we must try and put ourselves out there and trust with open eyes and open heart. I guess it then comes down to really knowing someone and believing they mean you well and have meaning behind their words/actions. Trust your instinct ... I do believe we can sense whether we're being duped, most of the time.

This is also known as creating stress.

Stress: the condition caused when the brain overides the body's natural instinct to choke the living crap out of someone that truely deserves it.

Overthinking is never a good thing. In fact, if thinking were outlawed altogether, it might solve a lot of worldwide neurosis'.

For those of us who don't really get 'instinctive feelings', overthinking is all we have.
