Regarding withhumanvoices

This has been a tough decision to make, but I'm leaving With Human Voices.

It was fun while it lasted, and I made some great friends there. I'll treasure the memories, and I enjoyed writing there, but it just doesn't feel like home anymore, and I don't know why that is.

I hope all of you who are still members enjoy the community, but I'm going to focus on creativewriter instead. There is a lot of work involved in moderating creativewriter, and I'm loving every minute of it, I just hope those of you who liked my writing on withhumanvoices find it interesting enough to keep an eye on creativewriter.

Once I get to the 100 on Thursday, I'll be leaving 100poems too, so if you want to read more after that, I'll be on creativewriter...

And, as miriyasterling said, "You're not a creative writer unless you're on creativewriter!"

Alright, here's my issue with creative writing communities (and I realize this might offend some people, but, so be it) ... my time spent in communities left me incredibly unimpressed. I'm a writer who needs criticism, I rely on that, because, as the writer, I'm sometimes blind to the flaws in my pieces. But in the communities, all I ever saw was people blowing smoke up the writer's ass: no one ever criticized the pieces, no one ever said "this isn't working" -- they just said "oh, this is great" "good job," etc. I don't know, maybe I misunderstood the purpose of such communities, but I went to them looking for people to tell me what the fuck was wrong with my stories or poems, not to be constantly praised. You can't grow as a writer if everyone is afraid of "hurting your feelings," so they just keep padding your ego instead of just plainly telling you what needs help.
