Anchors Away

If I'm in a healthy love relationship, that helps tremendously.

Also I've got great friends, my faith, my spiritual community and my mom and sister.

I think I'm still trying to find mine. .. not sure what it is right now.

I feel very unanchored.

Sarcasm. Husband, cats and sister help some, too. But mostly sarcasm and the prospect of being able to tell a really good story after it's all over.

What are you talking about?
My anchor is everything going crazy. When all is chaos and people are on the edge of panic, I am at my best.
When things grow stagnant and stable, that is when I flounder.

Reason and logic are good anchors, as long as the emotions don't take over...

Chaos overwhelming
Mind, body, and soul
The embodiment of purity
Destroying Order's heart
The black dreams of liquid lightning
Eradicate the impure
With the corrupt.

Bryan.

When there is a REAL crisis, I generally have a pretty level head. I shut everything else off and go into "let's get through this alive mode". But ... I have a tendency toward the "tempest in a teapot". Bryan is able to give me that perspective, let me step outside myself for a moment and realize that that is all that it really is. He tends to stay calm no matter what. And that lets me know that I am getting all worked up over nothing. Plus, he is the one that remembers to get all the little details taken care of that I'm forgetting about because I am overreacting.

I give myself permission to feel unachored for a moment so it can just pass through and leave. Then it's easy for me to focus on me and my daughter's life and the rest of my friends and family as an anchor.

And then there are moments, I just drop the anchor inside myself and let it find a sturdy hold. Moreless to remind myself of the power I always have within.
