As the night closes in
and wraps me in its cold cloak
I think of all the things
the day has brought to me
and I wonder what will be new
tomorrow

But for now there is only
the darkness of the night
and my solitary musings

One day there'll be a pair
of arms that will hold me
warmth against the cold
but until that day
I'll sleep with a smile
anyway

Because through the night
I know I carry the heat
of love in my heart
