As an emotional outlet, for connection with other people...and because I'm a frustrated writer with major block who really just wants to get paid for writing.
It's a way for me to vent and let off steam. I have my rants online and it clears my head. I also post jokes to cheer me and everyone else up. I post news stories that I find interesting. I post endlessly because I'm bored and can't think of anything else to do.
Seriously? Blogging is a communication tool with said friends that live in my computer. It's also a way for me to straighten out my thoughts, vent, express my creativity, etc.
Blogging is a way to express yourself in a way that you can't get away with in real life.
You can ramble on and on. In real life, people would roll their eyes. In cyberspace, people will read about your thoughts. They won't do it all the time but it's great when they do. It is, as stated above, like a diary with a social interaction mixed in.
because...life would have it that way. that once upon a time the internet came along and showed me this whole new world and led me to abandon my real journals. however, next year i will be writing on paper again. just want to make sure that there is some type of book someone can open up and read about ALL the things that were running through my head once i am gone. know what i mean? *hugs*
I just started in June. Hell, I didn't even know the meaning of the word before that - I had to ask my daughter, lol!
I'm making friends here - friends that I'm going to be meeting IRL too. Also, I don't work. I'm home all day while the bf works and this is my link to the outside world. Not that I never leave my house though, hehe.
No, really... A friend introduced me to this place 7 years ago and I took to it like a duck to water. I'd always kept diaries, but I'd make it - at the most - three months before stopping writing in it. This place I can still make private entries, but most of my stuff isn't worth putting private. So I like to make friends by just speaking my mind. It's why it's lasted this long.
Honestly, IRL I'm a pretty quiet person when it comes to talking about what's bothering me. I guess this is my way of expressing myself w/o worrying anyone real in my life. LOL
I guess I just do it for me. I don't ever care who reads the crap I write. LOL
I love to write. I love that on occasion one or more people read and appreciate what I write. I love to make people grin, cuz for that one little moment they forget all the crap in their lives and concentrate on nothing more than the lightness of being. It's all I have to contribute to the planet. And I love the relationships I've been able to form and develop with people I would never have met in the so called real world.
Oh yea, and because one day I will be second on Anarch's journal, meaning I will finally, after 55 long and fruitless years, have accomplished a magnificent feat of stamina and verbosity unmatched in human history... except for the_Ravyn, whom I will eventually crush beneath my all powerful blabalanche!
cuz it helps me release the thoughts [if you can call them that lol] in my head. if i dont release my thought, which is by blogging, drawing, or dancing, i go crazy.

...And sometimes others, though objectivity is left at the door.
Blogging is the only thing that's really kept me remotely sane.
