From the people you knew in your past, but lost contact with, who would you most like to locate again and why?

Alisa Kotmeyer. She was the first person I ever fell in love with that was kind to me in that she let me down easy. I'd like to know that she's doing alright in life.

Alisa was THE standard for many years. She made me want to be refined. I took her to my senior prom. I would have done anything for her. I was very brash and grotesque in my mannerisms then, and she was the total opposite, right down to how we felt about each other. There's a fine irony. =)

I wish I could remember all these great life experiences in my next life. Man, that would be grand!

My brother. My heart aches so much when I think of him. He's my half-brohter and I love him so much. I've not yet had the opportunity to meet his daughter either and that breaks my heart. I hope I can track him down some day. :(

Rick, the best man at my and Lou's wedding.  He was like family to us.  He just all of a sudden seemed to drop off the face of the earth roughly 7 years ago.  We've been trying to track him down ever since with not much success. :(

Anastasia, Greek Australian, lovely. I was loved up, let her know it, and screwed everything up.

Yomi, African girl i used to work with and have a crush on, but never had the balls to say anything.

Aleem, a good friend of mine from way back, no idea where he is now.

Trudy, from Yeadon in Leeds, wow this was millions of years ago, only knew her a week, it was a great week though.

Solve pronounced Solve-E, from down camberly way, another crush of mine, beautiful girl, she could walk past me in the street now though and i am sure i would not recognise her

the reasons why is that i still think of them all reguarly

Kim Hammond - 17 y/o first true love, bad news on how we split, i guess the anger blocked her from my thoughts, but [livejournal.com profile] mighty_rontor's post made me think of her and id like to forget the bad and see how she is doing

Tina Marinus - another ex girlfriend.

Great Question....

Date: 2007-11-08 01:01 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] inspectorjury.livejournal.com
My first wife and I were dating I went to California when she moved there but I couldn't find a job and it simply didn't work out. So I moved back to Indiana. At that point I started dating a girl named Rita Johnson. We started by just hanging out as friends. She was a waitress in the tea room of the department store I was the assistant window decorator for. She was fun, she was funny, she would help wash your car or clean out a garage. She was nice to my family and really enjoyed going to my brother's house to play cards with him and his wife. Then after four or five months my first wife showed up on my door pregnant and expected me to do the right thing. My parents expected me to do the right thing and marry the girl, so did Rita for that matter. After all if you weren't a cad that's what you did in those days. But, I in that short time had fallen deeply in love with Rita she was my best friend and a sweet person. Rita's moral guidance was as much if not the most deciding factor in my doing the right thing. So I gave Rita up and married this woman I no longer had strong feelings for only to be told on my wedding night that had she not needed a last name for her baby she would have never had anything more to do with me. I would love to know how Rita's life turned out. I hope she had nothing but the best. I still have a place in my heart just for her.

We had a son and when he turned three years old we divorced and I never saw either one of them nor heard from them until my son wanted to meet me. He was twenty eight at the time. So twenty five years later we met and have had a great though spotty relationship since. As for my ex she and I are friends. We get along just fine as long as she isn't depending on me nor I on her. LOL

at least you get to see your son. You never know one day you might find her, with a surname and first name you should be able to track her down...maybe?

Timing is everything, my friend. Timing is truly everything.

I spent some time, yesterday, tracking down a few people I didn't want to lose contact with. Some of the conversations were hard to get through, once we got passed the "Hi, how's it going" stage. When the rough parts were over, things started to fall back into their old grooves, again. So many memories were dragged out and chuckled or laughed over. There were some cleansing of old wounds, too.

As for "who" I'd like to locate again - ? That's a tough call. I'm not ready to deal with Tom again. I can't handle his brand of "friendship". I can't say as that I really miss Kate, because I don't. I would love to know how James (in NY), James (in the UK), and a couple old pen pals are doing - I wish them well in their lives and hope they're healthy.

The people I miss most, and would dearly love to talk to again, have passed away. The conversations are mostly one-sided now.

There was this girl. We were best friends for a long time. She and I have lost touch. Mostly, it's not a location thing. We just sort of fell out. She was really nice to be with, good old yin to my yang. We don't talk anymore at all. I miss her intelligence and her smile. Sometimes I think she misses me too, but I can't really know for sure. If we "reconnected" I'd like to know that. I'd like to know she's happy now too.

I owe Kim from high-school an apology. She was a sweet girl and I was an asshole for yelling at her like I did. She was just being a typical, silly, teenage girl and I thought that I was wise and above such things. I was a fool and a stupid, stupid asshole. I hope she's very happy and doing very well in her life.

I was 12, already an outcast and nearly devoid of contact beyond my own family. She was 12, and the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen, in that unique sort of way that's not like, perfect, but amazing in her imperfection. I had a morning paper route and delivered her house. Once... only once... I kissed the newspaper before I set it inside the screen door. I'm sure her father appreciated it, as no doubt she wouldn't have known what a newspaper was if it bit her in the ass.

Her name was Susan Johnston, she was in my 6th, 7th and 8th grade Catholic school classes and I'm sure if she'd even known who I was she would never have given me the time of day. But it's she for whom I wrote this:

If you had known I loved you, would the world have seemed a lighter place?
Or would the moon have crumbled and it's shards come crashing down.
You say you didn't see me tremble every time I saw your face
but if you had, now tell the truth, would I have seemed a clown?

If you had known I worshiped you, yes, as in silly teenage hype
was there a chance your pedestal had room for such as I?
Or was I always chaff to you, "a nice guy sure, but not my type"
might you have seen my flaky crust too filled with humble pie?

If I had asked you for a date, say to the show or out for tea
would you have held your breath until the paramedics came?
Or might you have been thinking "gosh I wish he'd want to be with me"
and I was just too dumb to know to feed the smallest flame.

It really has no meaning, it was back when I was just a child
I'd guess your life was perfect even though I wasn't there
It's just my little memory; my first true love, your first beguile
But here I thought I'd tell you, just in case you might have cared

Interesting question. Weird though- because I ran into my old beau from high school in the grocery store last Sunday. LOL We had a pleasant chat- but it was rather awkward. We exchanged email addresses... but haven't heard from him yet.

Anyways, I have always been a little curious as to what he's been up to. I guess now I know!

Hmmm... there's a couple.

Jessica - my best friend from 4th grade through the end of high school. She and I kept in touch for a couple of years after she moved to Utah, but I've lost track of her. I want to see how she's doing and how many kids she has now. :)

Edward - my stalker from high school/my first kiss. He was... a very disturbed young man. But it was pretty fascinating (if scary sometimes) to be the center of someone's world. I want to know if he's still in trouble with the law or if he's grown up to be productive.

This boy named Alex. I had a crush on him in elementary school. He was one of those few people in my past that really made me feel good. He had no problem hanging with me, he held my hand when we went to a school's haunted house, even came ice skating with me. He actually took the time to get to know me. When the 6th grade grad dance came around & he asked me to dance, I said no. I sometimes wish I had said yes. I was just so nervous. I just would like to thank him for making me feel like a normal girl. I'll always remember him.
