Not all that much, anymore. I've learned that in the end, when you do too much, and sacrifice too much for it, you resent what you were trying to keep in the first place. So honestly, at this point, nothing I don't *WANT* to do, willingly.
Love will either take root or not. The truest love doesn't require what artifices we conjure (although a smile, nice hair and a flirty wink are fun). Babies and mothers, for example, love each other without mom tarting it up (which would really be disturbing!). Plus, the more you act to allure, the more of a disappointment you'll be once the glamor fades, once the honeymoon is over. That's the root of why people that can't stand each other at first fall in love the hardest.
Be yourself. If they don't like the real package, it's their loss.
For my child I would do anything. For my family I would do anything - and believe me it's been both offered and asked for on my part and theirs. For my friends that are my family, I'd go to the ends of the earth.
For romantic love? I don't know anymore, honestly. Maybe I've been burned too many times to say I'd do anything.
Mutual acceptance and mutual growth from that acceptance. At least that's the impression that I'm left with. Of course, I could be wrong or missing something.
To give it or get it? Climb the highest mountain, swim the deepest seas. (I totally stole that from someone...haha!) I would do just about anything. I love being loved and loving. I think people use the word LOVE to often without knowing what it truly means. So, If I say it...I MEAN it. Love is more than just a four letter word.
To obtain love that I haven't got already, I wouldn't do an awful lot. I wouldn't kill for example. I wouldn't sacrifice something of myself for a glimpse of potential love.
But the love I have for my family. James. I'd risk and do anything that was asked of me.

Date: 2007-12-10 11:58 am (UTC)Honestly... I find it hard to answer your question. I'd do a lot of things. I'd sacrifice a lot of things.
I'm pretty sure, though, that depends on whether I can do any of the things I would do.
Meh... I'm not sure if that makes any sense... >_

Date: 2007-12-10 05:11 pm (UTC)Okay, that sounds like a cop-out. Let me try to be a little more specific.
What would I do to receive/find love? Offer it.
What would I do because of love? Whatever was necessary.
