Partying in Second Life until the last half an hour, then having drinks and watching the ball drop with my husband, parents and Aunt Dee. It was lovely. :)
First you need one of these whistles that reproduce the cry of the animal you are set to hunt. I have always found a nice record of swinging jazz to be doing just the trick. When the creature is in sight, you'll need a net to capture it (my cleaning lady offered me a nice lacey red pair of knickers for the occasion - Italians think red underwear bring good luck) and some sort of calming agent - NOT a bludgeon, you could damage it - a nice night cap usually does the trick (a 21 old rum does it extra nicely). Some people would recommend nailing the captured new year safely into place on your agenda, but I do rather prefer to let it flutter about in the house: years held in captivity do rarely sing...
Walking back and forth between two great parties with old friends, all of which started at 6 pm. Finally walked back home at 2 am. And it was quite cold (10 C) so the dancing was very useful.
Playing Guitar Hero with my friends Joe, Anisa, Phil and Steve. We had a really good time and I didn't even drink that much. For some reason I'm still feeling hung over. lol
I was sleeping...I couldn't make it. I'm a weiner. First time in... YEARS. I was sick a couple of years ago, but I still managed to wake up around midnight. I think this may be the first time since I was a baby that I slept through it.
Kicking and screaming. You see, when Baby New Year got wind he was walking into a world that is currently full of war, umemployment rates skyrocketing, stock markets plunging, oil prices that would cost even the richest of men a fortune, etc., well...he decided to pull a Bruce Willis a la Baby Talk and started shrieking, "Nooooooooooo! Put me back in! Put me back in!" And fugetaboutit when he got a look at the rough shape the old year was in. "That's what I'm gonna look like in a year's time?!?!?! You people have got to be out of your minds if you think I'm sticking around!" When told he had no choice, he curled up in a ball and muttered over and over, "I'm in my happy place. I'm in my happy place" while the rest of us watched the ball drop at Times Square.
Other than that, it was a pretty quiet evening. ;)
I fell asleep on the couch while watching two and a half men. Woke up and couldn't sleep again so i watched bugs bunny and tweety until it was time to get up and start my Mommy n' Me day, watching the Rose Bowl parade!! It's kind of a tradition for me and my Mom. :D *rolls eyes* oh the exciting life i lead :P lol
Not meaning I haven't kissed him in 10 years (we've only been together 6 months), but that I haven't had anyone I loved like this enough to kiss them at midnight.
like the maudlin dork that i am, i cried and cried! i was with my family and my boyfriend, we all watched the countdown on tv. as soon as it hit 12 am i hugged jack and kissed, but then i just started crying! LMAO he thought something as wrong but i explained that i was just really happy! of course he couldnt understand me through all my tears and sobs and gasps lol
