How much of what you're told do you consider the whole truth?

Hmmmm. I guess that all depends on who's doing the telling. I think most everyone tells some half truths. I'd say about 60% of what I hear from just about everyone is the whole truth. I don't think people reall intend to lie...I just think everyone stretches the truth. THERE! And with that, I bid you good night! :D

I think it's almost impossible to get the whole truth, because most of the time people don't know the whole truth of what they're saying. But I try to consider each item separately, and come to my own conclusions after gathering information. The truth can only begin to come together after you have many perspectives and many stories. Only then can a given subject start to become 3-D.

At face value? %10, and I will still research it.

Like what's been said above, I think it depends a lot on who's telling me what.

In general, I'd say that I'm pretty trusting person, though.

I don't even believe half the crap that tumbles outta my own brain. Only 'cause i know my thoughts, and they're not to be trusted on whimsy.

Everything else, i take with a large grain of salt.

Depends on who's telling it and what the subject matter is. The government? Never the whole truth. A couple breaking up? Hah! There's always 3 sides to that story: His side, her side, and the truth.

And I repeat this over and over to each party of the breakup whenever they try to tell me stories about the relationship.

All of it. Whether or not it's fact is an entirely different matter. I believe in the Rashomon Effect.

I don't care enough about much to care whether it's the truth or not.

If it's something I care about, I've already done the research etc or am aware of what's going on to know what's truth and what's not.

Everything else? Do.not.care. :p

Depends who's doing the telling.

I don't think the government has told the truth since, well since probably ever.

Dave - depends what mood he's in. Never maliciously or intentionally lies really, but occasionally the "truth" is just his interpretation of something, which due to the Aspergers is usually completely wrong and a very closeted view. The world through his eyes is rarely the world as it is, but that's just how his brain is wired so it doesn't bother me so much.

Anthony - occasionally self-delusional, but he always tells me the truth.

Natalie - has never lied to me.

Other Natalie - doesn't intentionally lie, but has on occasion stretched the truth for a good story/retelling. It's never malicious though.

Marc - has never lied to me.

It's hard to know what's the truth over the internet, but I give most of my online friends the benefit of the doubt - hence why I have a very small friends list.

Highly depends on who's doing the telling. For instance....my brother...less than 20%. Jeff 100%

There are very few people that I believe tell me the 'whole truth' because truth in many cases is subjective. Those few people I do believe. As for the rest, less than %20.

I suppose it depends on whose doing the telling.

I usually keep an open mind and hear it from all possible angles before formulating an opinion and trusting ones answers and even then I don't think I believe it whole heartedly.
