Are you ever nervous about saying 'I love you'? Why, or why not?

I don't know if I really mean it.

I'd have to say I'm pretty confident and I don't have a problem saying I love you. When I say it...I mean it! AND...It's nice to hear it back, but I don't HAVE to hear it back.

Less and less with age. Life is short after all.

Nope. Because I don't say it if I don't mean it.

Saying it to a person for the first time can be a little nervewracking, but I'd rather say it than not.

I don't say it unless I mean it. I didn't say it to Image (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=alainn_mactire)Pixie (http://www.livejournal.com/users/alainn_mactire/) for a long time at the start of our relationship. I didn't want to blurt out something that I wasn't 100% sure I meant.

Saying this has caused me problems in the past. I have said it before, and although I meant it 100% at the time in hindsight I wondered if it really was the case. This was many years ago I am talking about it here. To be honest I rarely say it now, I don’t know why, maybe a fear of rejection, maybe something else.

No, I'm not nervous about saying "I love you".  The phrase doesn't cross my mind unless I truly mean it and I have had some life lessons that have taught me that the chance I get to say it may be the only chance.  Carpe Diem and all that...

Yes. Well, let me qualify that. I have no trouble telling my friends I love them. But that next level, where you move into romantic relationships, it takes me long time to say it then. When I do feel that way, I say it. But I am careful about it.

I am more afraid of feeling it in return then I am to say it and feel it for another.

That is one arena in which I don't hesitate to express it if I feel it, in any form. The world needs more love and people need to know that they're loved more.

That being said - Love ya, babe. ;)

No...I believe you should tell the people you love that you love them before the chance is gone.

no..

i think it's because i grew up in a family where we often told each other that we loved each other, so it comes natural to me

Yes. Because it's sometimes difficult to know if you've said the right thing to someone you can't see.

No. But I've noticed a lot of people are damned nervous about hearing it.

I say I love you to my hubby and our nieces and nephews and god-daughters all the time.
I have a few friends who I say I love you, on a regular basis.
My parents and siblings and I don't do the whole love you bit at all.
But I do say I love you to my sister, we also fall out fail out quiet alot but I always love her.
I know my parent's love me. But I have never heard them say it.

I don't say I love you to just anyone.

but you know I love you right?
you do know that.....Love you !

If it makes you feel better - I don't say it often. =)

But when I do it's with complete sincerity!

You can only say things based on the moment you're in... Hindsight has the benefit of 20:20 vision...
