Do you name things (iPods, computers, cars, gadgets), and if so, what kinds of names?

I once had a car named Demon. Boy, was she. But i loved her to death till she got traded in for a car i never named and lost ('cause i lost my job not long after).

My phone is named Amphigory. My camera is nameless, but is nonetheless decked out with a dragon sticker. ^_^

yes...right now the only thing that I have named is my car. THE YETI.
When I did that trip up to Georgia, I named the gps Louise.

Dishwasher - Alice (after the maid on The Brady Bunch (http://www.tv.com/brady-bunch/show/528/summary.html))
Dress form - Esmerelda (no reason; it just seemed 'right')
My flintlock rifle - Penelope (no reason; it just seemed 'right')
Watch - W.A.M. (pure snark on my part)

Some of the stuff animals I have do have names. Usually named for the event/person they came from.

Former car names:
'74 Mustang II - Harry, after my first boyfriend. Both were redheads (the car was candy apple red), were fun to be around, and gave me a lot of grief. Like the relationship, the transmission ended up on the ground in a bagillion pieces.
'72 Opal Manta Luxus - Scooter. It scooted whenever you stepped on the gas.
'95 Honda Civic - Skate/Roller Skate. It felt like you were sitting in a roller skate when driving it.
'90 Jeep Cherokee Sport - Nelly. No reason; it just seemed 'right'.

*thinks* I'm pretty sure that's about it, for now. My new-to-me car seems to want a name. I'm waiting for the personality to really start showing, to find out what the name will be.

I named my ipod "Happy" and my car was "The Green Bitch" but I was young back then so you can't make fun of me. I don't have the ipod anymore either I gave it to my sister when her nano broke. I was thinking of a touch but I might just replace with the regular ipod -- I had gotten mine before it went all video. I really need the song space because my computer is about to barf I have so many songs on the hard drive. LOL well that was a mouthful!

We refer to our cars only by name... like Misty and Amber are our two cars. Calling them the volvos just seems so impersonal.

Sometimes. The wood stove in the garage I used to play D&D in was named "Lopi", (I have no idea why), and we called it the fire elemental. The air conditioner was the air elemental. My old Valiant was called "The APC (Armoured Personel Carrier), things like that.
