You wouldn't think so, but the list to this question is too long to respond here. I'm incredibly picky about a wide range of things, although most wouldn't realize it.
Food, music, people, actions, interests, events, drinks, grammar, politics... Really, I can be considered "picky" for anything you choose to disagree with me on.
Oh and for "discerning"- I'm very discerning about my art materials. I am not discerning about clothes or stains (paint stains to be exact) on my clothes.
If it's mealy, grainy or soft, I pitch it. Can't stand it.
Though, if it has odd spots (like it's organic or from a local farm or farmers market and not chemical-ized to death) I'll just cut those out or eat around them. Those are my favorite because I know they're "real".
Pick-up lines. The average guy doesn't put nearly enough thought and effort into it even to be granted a quick flirtation. And even then ... well, you've got to prove yourself a lot more than that if you're going to get to the final goal there! ;)
As for discerning, well I generally have a pretty good read on things. I've gotten little tingles where someone strikes me as a little off, and everyone I know gets mad at me for being a bit stand-offish because that person is coming across as the cat's meow, and then boom it comes out that he's been embezzling money and beating his wife. But that only goes so far. This week I found out how deep a scam someone who I thought was an intelligent, knowledgeable, and respect-worthy individual was running. Nice not to get burned, but still upsetting that I thought he was a better person than he was. That kind of thing leaves one rattled for a while.
I picky about pretty much anything to do with my food. I like to know every ingredient that is going into my mouth, more or less. I'm particular about how things are cooked. I'm particular about calories and fat content.
I guess I'm also pretty picky about the company I keep... at least in real life. If someone is bound to embarrass or annoy me in any way, they're probably not ever going to be part of my circle.
Let's see...food; grammar; language usage; schoolwork; technical precision; friends (i.e. the definition of a friend vs. an acquaintance); music....hmmm. I think that's all the main stuff.

Date: 2008-03-20 10:15 am (UTC)I sometimes get into seriously pissy moods if nothing is going how i want it to. Guess that makes me more controlling than picky. o_0
