It has to be right before I started high school, when we moved to another town. Up until then, in the old town, believe it or not, I was a horribly shy kid and only had a couple of close friends. I was even afraid to answer questions out loud in class. When we moved, I decided that I wasn't going to waste my high school years just being a nobody - I wanted to have fun. And friends. And do fun teenage stuffs. So I forced myself to not give a shit about what other people thought of me and become a total extrovert and my high school years ended up being (almost) the most fun years of my life. And you see how I am today, lol.
After 1 year of studying at a local university, i packed up and moved to 700km from home to be with my boyfriend whom I had been seeing for a year long distance...
I ended up marrying him, so i guess it worked out well:)
It seems like all the major moves I've made in my life (moving, marriage, career, kids, etc.) have been 'risky' in the eyes of other people but since I tend to just do what I feel is right, it never seems risky to me. I feel aprehensive. I take pause. But I leap and looking back, when it all works out? It doesn't seem risky in the end!
Getting up this morning. And if you ask me this question tomorrow, you get the same answer. For me, just dealing with whatever happens in any given day is risky enough.
Moving half way across the world to a country I knew nothing about but the picture Hollywood paints was definitely a major risk. I had no idea what I would get myself into, where I would end up, what my (ex)husband's family would be like. The first few years were not easy, but I learned to use my elbows and push my way through if need be ;)
Going back to school was another risk because I took myself as well as my son out of our "comfort zone" and tossed us into cold water. Coming to find out, this step on the path of my new journey has been one of the best things I could've ever done with my life.
I moved to San Diego, California directly after I got my Bachelor's Degree to pursue a career in singing and modeling. I've been dreaming about it my whole life, dreams that literally wake me up at night lol :) So, I said 'I'm not getting any younger. This is my last chance, most likely.' Packed up my stuff, left Brad, my home, and my friends, and boarded a plane to San Diego!
Still trying to pursue dreams, but I'm signed with a small agency and working with musical theater and a jazz band. Its the most horrifying thing I have ever done, because I'm not in my element (not the performing, that's a drop in the hat. The living away from friends and family is scary.)
I think it was the day i left the womb. Or maybe it was the day i lost my virginity. No, wait... It could be the day i threw my heart on the grill and waited for it to fry.
I'd say starting a business two or three times, but actually it wasn't so bad. The real risk was riding a motorcycle 150 miles through the mountains in a blizzard.
