When they use me as a way to facilitate sleeping with the guy I married.

Oh, wait.

*chuckling* I saw your "token not afraid" icon. Is it me, or did that token look like a dosage of Valium?

I think it's just you- I promise it is a real, live NYC Y-cutout subway token. That particular one is living in England now.

Maybe valium tabs look like subway tokens?

Being talked down to at all makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. But that's coming from anybody, not just colleagues. :/

you know- i don't think i've ever experienced ageism at a work place. i guess i've been blessed to have worked at some pretty open-minded places!

Incompetence. If you've been trained to do something and took notes or have web sites with answers at your disposal you should NOT be asking any questions. Especially not the same ones every day.

Likewise! I have a colleague who does exactly that.

Plus, he also tries to tell another colleague how to do things.

I want to hit him over the head with a large, heavy object at times.

This guy also doesn't listen - I tell him to do something, and hand him something relevant to the task, and then he asks me if I want said item back, despite my having already told him that it's damaged and is to go in the damages area.

Haha yeah, I like knowing what to expect from people, and in my experience the only way to do that is to work alone.

Just one? Ok, I'll give two.

Yelling (which has occured) and talking shit about "you" behind your back where you overhear the idots comments.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm currently in school and about to graduate, so the near end curriculum is kickin' my butt! I seldom log onto LJ but after I graduate, I'll be able to interact again.

Yes! Yelling from this one woman and I put her in her place too, but she doesn't care for me regardless. Oh well, it's her loss, right? lol

She's an odd duck and I've come to accept it, but if she ever yells at me again (and I mean really yells like she did the first time) there might be hell to pay as I will report her to HR for harassment.

Although, I have attempted to keep this at bay and will, but one more yelling fiasco, and she's history.

-Being told what to do when they aren't my supervisor and I've been there longer than they have and know the job.

-Disrespect.

-Unwanted contact. You do NOT need to touch me every time you say something.

-Lies.

The inability to listen to new (and potentially challenging) information fairly.

It's the mark of a mind utterly closed by its own arrogance and the fear of the loss of personal importance. This makes the mind impotent.

Disrespect in any form. Entitlement. The inability to adapt. Continual negativity (everyone has a bad day every now and then, but continual negative attitudes make me go away from others).

Unwanted sexual behavior. This seems to be my biggest pet peeve. I know once I had a stalker at work who would not leave me alone. And even one day when my hubby came to the employee lounge to have lunch with me- the guy STILL sat beside me and TRIED to have a conversation with me!!! How insane is that?! I finally could not take anymore and told my boss and the guy got fired.

I can't pick just one...
laziness, constantly hitting on me, trying to stab people but nearly getting me, superiority complexes, people getting involved where they shouldn't...
so much more.

Right after I graduated college I worked as a restaurant manager for a couple months...they stuck me in an "undesireable" district. I had all drug dealers and gang bangers, etc.
So, one gang banger cook decides to be mad at another cook (actually somewhat of a clean cook, actually) and went after him with a couple sharp, heavy objects and a knife.
Little me is stuck inbetween and nearly got stabbed roughly 6 times.
It's exciting, sure, but...that gave me a lot of motivation to get out of there haha.

Taking the work that I or others do for granted or assuming that I'll just take over their work too or not covering for me in return. Basically general selfishness.

Passing the buck. You screw up? Buck up. I take responsibility for what I do wrong, my collegues should be adult enough to do the same.

And if they pass the buck? I call them on the floor in front of everyone. NO ONE makes me look bad BUT ME.

Childish ones...I was a newbie for a long time. I was picked on a lot because I was so young and in a higher position. I cannot stand back biting like we're in Jr.High. So I tell them: If you have a problem with me tell me to my face and I will fix it,if you can't be grown up enough to do that I will keep doing my job the way I do my job and you can do whatever it is you do. Pretend to be civil.
