Hard to narrow it down to one thing - pretty much anything from the 80's and early 90's - some dance songs. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is a favorite, and Celebration. I was raised on disco, haha.

9th grade I was a skate punk. I was into a million different thrash bands. 10th grade I was into a little bit of hip-hop, but mostly brit synthpop. Junior year I was into more of the gothic type stuff (sisters of mercy, bauhaus, the mission uk, death gang children etc), as well as stuff like skinny puppy. Sr year: I was into aggro industrial type music: Skinny Puppy, ministry, revolting cocks, etc.

Let's do this by genre, and I'll get out what I can remember - and know that this will be totally incomplete:

Folk/Celtic Rock: Horslips, Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, Clannad

Alternative/Punk: Kate Bush

Ambient/Electronic: Klaus Schulze, Mark Dwane, Vangelis, Micheal Stearns, etc.

Rock: Pink Floyd, Blue Öyster Cult, Kansas, and more I can't remember off the top of my head right now.

Native American: Coyote Oldman, R. Carlos Nakai, Anima (David & Diane Arkenstone)

Jazz/Blues: Miles Davis, Billie Holiday

80s Big Hair Bands: Cinderella, Europe, Bon Jovi, Damn Yankees, Def Leppard, Metallica, etc.

Classical: Beethoven, Bach, Pachelbel, Chopin, Rachmaninov, etc.

Soundtracks: The (original) Lost Boys, Footloose, Streets of Fire, and tons of others.

Edited for singular potentially embarrassing punctuation FUBAR. ^__^

If you listen to Rainbow and Deep Purple, have you listened to Blackmore's Night - Ritchie's latest band (just over a decade old, but still recent)? He's still rockin' away on stage.
