It affects everyone. People are a result of everything in their past. If anything in your past were different, you'd be someone *else*, no matter how slight.

Of course.

If I hadn't experienced everything in my past, even the things with lasting emotional scars, I wouldn't be me.

Everything that has happened in the past has contributed to the people that we are today.

I really try not to let it, everyone always says live in now, not the past, not the future... hard sometimes. I think our past made who we are today, so hard to completely have it not effect us, right?

The past always has some kind of impact on you, seriously. I mean, we can all forgive, but can never forget. And remembering what we went through is what helps us to make changes and actually be the person we are every day. Yes, the past affects me, but I try to see it as a positive.

Sometimes the negative peeks in, and it makes me difficult to live with. But I am sure that the right person will work with my past and understand my fears and make me important enough to work through it with me.

I will just wait for that right person.

Love you.

Depends on the trigger, and then I have to sort it out. That's usually a flag for me to fix something inside myself, and an opportunity that, if wasted, will return with inflated interest and much personal unrest.

Well, it affects me in-so-much as i try to LEARN from the past and avoid repeating the same mistakes over and over and over (you get the idea) again.

But in general i tend to live my life without looking back much. The one exception is what i told you about my brothers (well, especially the one brother) and going to school. I figure that as we start having more of a relationship as adults I'll be able to let go of that, though... I hope.

If I don't keep the past in mind to some degree, I am in danger of repeating my mistakes; that's a yes.
I work on unweaving the bad parts of my past that I allow to rule my present. My present and future come in handy as antidotes to regrets.
When I succeed at bringing the past here to a good purpose, it affects others, which affects me, in a good way.
