Maintaining a "career". For a long time I thought careers were a kind of bird. Then I started wondering if they were mythical birds, like the phoenix or the cockatrice. Now I realize that they are out there, and so many people have them that they have become an endangered species of bird. I know they are birds because everyone who has one always complains to me about how it shits all over their lives.
