How much does mood or opportunity affect your morality?

More than I should really admit!

I almost wish I could say that it's tough for me to stick by my morals and principles. It sounds so much more interesting than saying I apparently have such good self control that I never even feel tempted to bend my own rules, but it's the truth.

However, part of me kind of wishes I knew what it was like to feel a mood so deeply, or want to grab an opportunity so badly, that at least the thought of coloring outside the lines crosses my mind once in a while! I feel like I'm so boring sometimes.

A lot, but not how some folks might think. It's not the difference between an empty gas tank and a full one, it's the difference between self-service with 87 octane and full-service a la 1950's Texaco with 93 octane.

Moral choices made when awake and conscious vs when in an aroused state.

As an example :D

In the past it did a lot more than now. I have better control over it now, but it still does. For example, if I am in a bad mood, I might be very rude to people, which goes against my morality. If I have the chance, I try to reason with myself before I make decisions based on my mood which might go against my moral beliefs.

When I get in certains moods...A HELL OF A LOT!!. There are times I know I am just looking for trouble and when that happens morals are hard to come by!

Good question, I'll have to think about it.

If your mood/opportunity affects your morality more than you should really admit, do you have regrets later?

It really doesn't. Tempted yes. But I was brainwashed pretty young. Some stuff is just in me for life. Or maybe several lives.

Like, morality as in "I'm happy" morality? A lot. Hence mood. Morality as in "Thou shalt not stab thy neighbor in the crotch with a gardening utensil on Tuesday because his dog crapped on your front porch"?
No.
