My BFF in high school was actually two girls, Jennifer and Cindy. Jennifer I still keep in touch with but she's married with 4 little kids and is pretty busy these days. Cindy on the other hand, I haven't seen or heard from since 2005. I've been searching for her for awhile now and have so far been unsuccessful. Maybe that can of worms is better left unopened. lol
Yes and no... Denise who was the 1st ever friend I had is still in contact with me. There are some things in the past that she did that hurt me like no other. So I don't want to start the frienship again but she does.
Alison, a gal Denise introduced me to when we were in elementary school but didn't became real friend till college, we are th ebest of friends.
Her name was Eden. We lost touch after high school. She passed away a year and a half ago. I found out when I signed up for Facebook and found friends from school there. I had a funny feeling something bad happened to her, but had no real way to find out.
She was only 35. Blood clots are never a good thing. Poor girl. :(
i've lost touch with most people i went to elementary, middle, and high school. i am still in touch with my best friends from college, but we are all scattered throughout the US and beyond. and i haven't kept in touch with people from graduate school.
*points at icon* That's me and my best friend, Amy. We've known each other since kindergarten and have been best friends since the 6th grade. :D We were even pregnant at the same time - her son is about a week older than my youngest :)
I had no friends at school. I did now and then grunt at a guy who also smoked outside the front entrance at the same time I did... but I don't think that qualifies.
I had several of those "best friends" throughout the years...BUT...in the 7th grade I met Lori (we called her Bubba). In the 11th grade we became the best of friends, the kind where you are stuck to the hip. We still talk to this day. We both have changed a lot though. Her life took a turn for the crappy.
My longest-lived best friend (lmao) from school was Dena. We became best friends our sophomore year of high school, and were best friends for about 23 years. I finally got fed up with the way she was letting her life run her; when she was ON the wagon she needed me to be her one and only friend (and I wasn't allowed to have other friends), when she was OFF the wagon, I wasn't good enough to be her friend because I wasn't a cokehead. I got sick of rescuing her and having her tell me if I didn't send her thousands of dollars she was going to kill herself...hell, if I'd had it I would have been using it to better my life and my children's, not feeding her coke habit. The last time I think I actually spoke to her was probably about 10 years ago; she had invited my daughters to her daughters' birthday party (their birthdays were a day apart or something like that) and when we got there, she wasn't there but the kids were. We waited about two hours for her, with her mother throwing a fit because we were there, and finally went to see if we could find her (the kids said she and their father (her ex #2 out of 3? 4?) had gone to the store). Couldn't find her, came back and they were there (they'd been off having sex in the car; she was still married to husband #3), but she said we couldn't stay for the party but we were welcome to leave the gifts we had brought. Was that the only reason we were invited? For gifts? We left and I haven't spoken to her since. She called my late husband after I had my son, but I never called her back. Ran into her at the mall maybe 3-4 years ago; her daughters came up to talk to me. The two daughters from her third marriage, not the two from the second. I think it was the third marriage. I dunno. I don't think I really care.
It was Dawn...and she got married when she was 16 (2 years before graduation) and snubbed all of us after she did. She went around telling everyone how much better she was than the rest of us because she had a Husband and we couldn't get dates. I never saw her again after we graduated. I have wondered how her life turned out..
I was never actually friends with anyone from high school because I went to a private school where everyone was really snobby. I had real good friends from my town, the best of which passed away while I was in college (not because of drinking either). I befriended people from another area school near where I waited tables, still close with them, heck, some were in my wedding party. From college, I still keep in touch with them, but Wysky is my best friend out of there, and she was my maid of honor and we talk 2-3 times a week and try to meet up for lunch weekly.
well, i was homeschooled from 3rd grade through highschool. I really didn't have a friend that i would call a "best friend" until 4th grade. And while we went through a "rough patch" during most of high-school we are NOW friends & i am incredibly thankful for her. :-)
Christy W...now H. And yes we are! I've known her since 6th grade and we're still the best of friends, talk weekly by phone, every day or so by email. She's like family.
I had a few singular lone-wolf friends, who were temporary companions against boredom and loneliness. I don't talk to a single one of them, and haven't in many years. I frankly do not expect to ever lay eyes on any of them again.
We moved around so damn much that there are quite a few. The one that sticks most on my mind is Vanessa, and we are still friends and I utterly positive it's because I met her through camp as a teenager, and we never had to go to school together. It's kind of like a long distance relationship, where you only see each other at your best I guess...
My BFF in high school was Dawn. We still talk, but mostly via email or MySpace. When we both turn 35 in 2010, we're going to get tattoos together! Cheesy huh? ;)
My best friend in elementary school was a girl named Marion. We hung together from first grade until fourth. After that I switched schools, and we lost contact. I ran into her years later when we were both adults already. She got married right after graduating from high school and her husband was a religious fanatic. I noticed quickly that she had become just like him. Our conversation was more than strained because to everything I said she had a bible quote or a remark that I'm going to hell. Needless to say, we never met again, and I have no clue where she is now. I think about her from time to time and wonder what became of her, and I hope that she's happy.
My best friend from the last few years of school moved away when we were `18 but she was maid of honor at my wedding and we keep in touch via Facebook nowadays.
I'm not friends with anyone I went to school with - and that's all the way through high school. I went to college with my ex, and he's the only person I'm still friendly with from university.

Casualty of the 1970's drug culture. Some of us survived it, others...Well can't really call that living, can you?
