What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sirenity for the question, and my answer: Sheep's brains! :D

I'm not sure what it was but it was very squamous. There were lots of things in that seafood ramen that were a mystery to me. :)

One of the scary things about it is that it has to be boiled for several hours in order to get the cyanide out. No, I'm not taking the piss.

Three things that still make me shudder:
Sheep brains
cow udder
Red ants (still alive)

And yeah, I had these things in France.

I ate Beef Heart unknowingly. Dad tricked me....

When I was pregnant I ate dark red kidney beans with mustard and I also dipped Donato's bread sticks in strawberry yogurt.

Weird food

Back in the day I would eat most anything non insectoid (although i'm sure I've done the 7 spiders they say you eat over a lifetime). The weirdest thing is hard to define- I've talked to people who were amzaed that I've eaten snake and alligator. Probably the strangest thing (and it's not strange in the conventional sense) is raw meat. I'm not talking a little tartare or gently cooked steak- I'm talking licking it off the styrofoam. It's hard to strive towards vegetarianism, but that's my goal. However, life without sushi would be unbearable. That's said, I've met some very nice cows. That I didn't eat.

I don't think it's weird, but a lot of people think it's disgusting: I eat raw oysters any chance I get, and I love escargot. I've had gator, frog legs, shark, steak tar tar, etc. Also, there was a Chinese restaurant my dad and I ate at in Vegas, and we had no idea what all was on that platter they brought out to us, and were kinda afraid to ask. So, who knows what the hell I've actually eaten. (It was good, though!)

I think I've eaten sheep's brains, too. I'm not terribly sure. As a teen I was in Spain living with a family who spoke about as much English as I spoke Spanish. It took me maybe 12 yrs to suss out what it very likely was, when a friend and I were having this very conversation. Definitely my least favorite culinary experience.

For me: Raw prawns, I think. Sheep's brains are really mundane stuff for where I come from...
For others? Not sure. Veal snout, maybe? Pork tail and ears? Snails? Frog legs?
I'd really eat anything.

Toss up between lemon ants, or the kuyrdak (roasted sheep offal & fat).

Camel's milk isn't weird, per se, but I don't think I'll ever grow to like it.

Weirdest? Giant sea turtle in Indonesia, before they were placed on the endangered list. Buffalo in Wyoming struck me as different, although a lot of people have had it. I bailed on the idea of ostrich.
