Probably: 1) The fact I think cannabis should be legalised for pain purposes. (It's actually remarkably effective for chronic pain) 2) The fact I'm personally 100% against abortion - but still pro-choice 3) I would, after years of dithering, consider myself a Roman Catholic, just as I was raised. I don't, however, believe that the Pope is infallible and personally, I think this particular Pope is taking the church a huge step backwards and pretty much re-installing all the divisions that Pope John Paul II spent his life trying to eradicate. 4) I don't believe children under the age of about 14 - 16 (depending on the child) should be allowed anywhere near game consoles, with the exception of specific learning games on the home PC.
1. Religion 2. Childbirth and the prevention and/or regulation thereof. 3. Death penalty for animal abusers. 4. Either the legalization of all drugs (especially addictive ones) or the illegalization (if that's a word) of alcohol and tobacco. 5. Socialism & Communism 7. Gender diversity
-Believing that Jesus is the only way to true life and heaven in the afterlife is pretty controversial... -My belief that abortion is murder -My belief that freedom matters more than security and/or safety is becoming more controversial than i would hope it would be. :-/
Just to tell you that you get no controversy from me on Numero 2. I think women have gotten a little crazy with the whole "my body" thing. If it is your body, control your actions. Society refuses to see that actions have a domino effect, and they do not want to be punished for their actions.
eek. Probably most of them, in one way or another. But I tend to keep my opinions to myself. Doing the anthropology/religion thing has left me very open minded...which in itself is pretty controversial. :)
Off the top of my head I'd say I've debated my views on religion more often than anything...especially lately with talk of me officiating my sister's wedding. And birth control/abortion. Lately I got in a debate on the importance of language and its uses and effects. Maybe I just know a lot of opinionated people. :)
Hmmm, my views on politics, abortions, same sex relationships having children, and tons of other mindless and mindful ramblings. However, because I am pretty much open minded, my controversy stays to agreeing to disagree and nothing more. Only time it gets uglier is when full faced murder is brimming and we have people marching to say its okay. I kinda get pissy and steamrolling there.
*Hugs* I hate drama, but appreciate a good debate.
I think an open faced peanut butter sandwich is not complete unless it has little pieces of butter atop the peanut butter so that the stupid thing doesn't stick to the roof of your mouth... and cuz butter tastes so good more is only better.
Some people hate me for this view. I won't name names...
Religion/Spirituality - Druid/Bard/Mystic String Theory - I believe in strings that vibrate inside of Quarks on the sub-atomic level and the active power of vibration on physical (and non-physical, i.e. emotions) objects Academic - America is declining because people are too lazy to learn, and those, who want to learn, generally cannot afford to do so Gender - traditional roles are a slow stunting poison for those who cannot conform to them either physically or mentally Sexuality - I am pan-sexual (but regarded bisexual culturally) in regard to humankind; it's about the person on the inside, not the gender Politics - I'm a middle of the road type of Democrat with some left wing leanings... but I'm in the Republican Party Stem Cell Research - I'm all for it. Environmental - Because it's the only planet we currently have to live on - and would you really want to live in a world without trees, fields, and water? Really? I know I sure as hell don't want to live in an apocalyptic, post-industrial wasteland. That's depressing!
There's more, I'm sure, but that's enough of a start.
Without going into the "why"... Death penalty supporter Military supporter Abhor organized religions Right to bear arms supporter Pro-Choice Abortion should be and continue to be a legally SAFE medical procedure
My spiritual, political views are most controversial.
My belief that Eckhart Tolle is only a stepping stone and not the end all.
But, what surprises me the most, is that my ability to really accept and not judge people is misinterpreted as changing my mind by most people. My ability to separate behavior from essence is misunderstood by almost everyone I know. It makes me feel pretty isolated on the physical realm. Integrating it is constant work.
