A 12 year old girl was slashed in the face at school.

She needed 30 stitches

All because she tried to help a friend who was being bullied.

She's lucky not to have lost an eye.

This world just gets worse.

when I was a little girl the worst weapon were words - taunts and cruel teasing and that made my world crash down around me. BUT I did not have it as bad as now when children carry weapons and inflict wilful injuries upon others if they cannot control them through bullying. Fear tactics have been elevated. The worst threats we got from other kids at school was getting our heads flushed down the toilet.

I often wonder what makes these children believe this is the way or answer to their issues. Do they not get enough attenton at home from their parents? I often listen to children Matthew's age and they cuss worse than any sailor and they laugh when an adult brings them to attention for it. BUT who allows such bad language .. I would be very displeased if Matt ever learned to swear and did so without regard or reprecussion.

I don't know whether it's because parents are much too busy these days to spend time with their children or more lax with rules of good behaviour. I think some parents are too caught up in being their child's best friend they forget that their job is to guide and sometimes their child may not like them for it at the time but they may thank them later on.

With the lack of strict discipline in schools and in the home, kids that aren't nurtured properly get to a stage when they'll turn around to their teacher, or in some cases parent even, and say "If you punish me I'll report you"

That is a situation that can't go on.

I tried to help a friend that was being bullied in grade 11. Two punches split open two sinus cavities and crushed my nose flat against my face. Two operations and a cast on my face for two months. Dude... the world has sucked for ages.
