I forget to breathe
In awe
Just at the sound of your voice
Saying my name

Words fail me

They never have before

And your voice washes over me
Like a wave
A natural force that lifts me
And carries me away

A trio of words
Hit my soul
Like a tidal wave

Then I breathe

It feels like the first breath
Of a newborn babe
A sweet burn in my throat
Cleansing me

It is my first breath
Since you breathed life into me
With those
