The Long War

It had to happen eventually, I guess. The modern day Cold War. Settle in folks, this will be a soap opera that will run for many years...

A soap opera we don't really need.

One can only hope that a change in office, as in new president and administration, will nix this idea, for it to remain for 20 years, it has to have funding, that is potentially 5 different presidential terms, do we think all of them are going to stand behind this objective?

One hopes not! I don't have an issue with keeping up intelligence and being aware of what is going on with terrorism across the globe, but going in and bombing and creating more violence and war just seem ridiculous.

I hope a change in office is soon.

I fear though, that too many people are enjoying this climate to allow change...

I am not sure 'enjoying' is the right word, and I do not say this to be pedantic. I think too many people have been tricked and scared into believing this is our only route. With knowledge comes understanding and hopefully the fear will disipate. I have to remain hopeful that a new administration could bring more knowledge or truth and therefore undo some of the scaremongering that has taken place. I live in hope.

What I meant was, that people who make the weapons and equipment will be rubbing their hands together in glee, with dollar signs for eyes...

People who blindly follow in fear, well, I have very little sympathy for them at times. A mind is a terrible thing to waste...

ahh, yes, the greed factor, sorry, misunderstood...

and a mind is indeed a terrible thing to waste and it often feels as if we are living in a wasteland...
