do you mean "get away with" in the sense that the authorities are never going to cotton onto the fact it was you, or have absolutely no emotional tie to it ever? Because I don't think my conscience could let me get away with it. Still though, it was quite nice to read this post, rack my brain and realise that there truly is nobody I hate that much anymore.
Excue me!....no, I would NEVER take anothers life,...thought, without getting away with it....If someone tryed to hurt the ones I love, I do come out swinging, so I might do something, but not 'intentional' murder... 'kittie diane'
James Igora Wilson. He is a former green beret with a hip problem who steals his mother's pension checks and made her destitute while making her cook for him as he snorted heroine. He turned several good people into addicts to share his habit and left them in the dust while he moved on to the next. He is a blight on humanity and the world would be better off without his existence. I worked with that piece of shit for six years before he scammed his way into disability. For the record, I don't actually hate him; in fact, I hate him as much as I would hate a rabid dog that need to be put down. It wouldn't be murder, it would be a public service. For the record, I would never knowingly in practice take actions that would lead directly or indirectly to his death, but I would certainly shake the hand of someone who would.
Killing someone is not something that should be done without serious consideration and as a last resort, but I'm not naive enough to think that no one should ever be killed. No one can ever convince me of that.

Heh. When you consider the conversation about being surpreme world ruler... I'm of the opinion you understand why my list would be too great to put in comments.
I watch CSI and Law & Order. I know how this stuff works ;-)
Sadly, I confess that in watching CSI I have pondered if it is possible to get away with the perfect murder. It's not like I'd actually ever try, but if you watch those shows long enough you see what they're looking for and start to wonder. Of course, these days lawyers here are suffering from the "csi effect" with jurors -- those who watch the show and expect the same kind of solid dna evidence to appear in a real life courtroom
Let me ask a clarifying question - is there a difference in your mind between "get away with murder" and "kill without consequences"?
Because to me there is.
The first implies that you are doing something illegal to me - but not having to pay the consequences - yet still living with a 'secret'... the second implies that you can take someone else's life, willingly, without fear of repercussion.
The underlying ontology of the question makes it unanswerable for me as it is... because I *could* probably 'get away with murder' if I wanted to - but I wouldn't want to live with the other consequences of 'murder' that are inherent in it (i.e. that you can't 'get away' from)
My friends aren't people. They are friends. And I wouldn't kill everyone, necessarily. I would leave those who obey my will without question, are easily swayed by propaganda, or who may be useful as breeding stock. After all, it is my life-long goal to either destroy all stupid people, or rule them with fists of steel and mortar.
The Roman Catholic Church has got to go, though. They've been hindering my designs for far too many years now.
Man, all these hippies hesitating with the finger on the trigger. Heheh... Yeah, I've got someone on my list.
Leo Strauss, the political philosopher who inspired the modern neoconservative movement. He's been an inspiration--sometimes indirectly but often quite directly--to the current state of affairs in the US where "national emergency" precludes any manner of human decency or fairness in dealing with the rest of the world. His is a very brutal approach that puts our immediate survival and crushing any imagined threats to it above all else.
Not only would I do it, but I'd probably do it savagely. Rejecting the man isn't enough; he'd need to be a symbol of my fury that the principles of the Nazi Party have somehow outlived them.
Man, this was totally inappropriate as a first post, but it was such a fun question... I think I should go cool off for a bit.
