It's an odd thing to pick, but whatever else I define myself by, I unequivocally believe I utterly rule my destiny and everything in my life. This can have negative repercussions, I can take things as a personal slight when I shouldn't, and perhaps one day I will slip into true psycopathy, but it is extremely liberating. To me the connotations of discipline and self-denial are powerful (albeit never romantic) and noble...a comfort even. Hell, I could write an essay about the word actually, but I won't.
