In grade/middle school, seating was not an option. The high school I went to had 2500+ kids. I sat wherever the hell I could :)

I'm a front and center sitter. It really bugs me when someone sits infront of me. It's one of my things. I don't like to be distracted ;)

right in the middle, close enough to see the board without haven to squint, and not too
near the back so teachter wondered what I was up to...

Close enough to the teacher that I looked like a more attentive, eager student than my counterparts in the back row ... but far enough away that the teacher couldn't tell that I was actually writing, and NOT taking notes :-P

firts row, near the window, hence the teacher, to avoid people that cheated in exams poking me to help them (no i was not brilliant student but cheaters always bugged me) plus didnt want to get caught, get in trouble for nothing!

As far away from attention as I could get. . .and if it was by a window, even better. . . the back always got a lot of attention - and the front always got a lot of attention, so I generally sat in the middle but to the side.

But that never lasted long. . .teaches usually pulled me either up to the front 'so they could keep an eye on me' or they pulled me away from everyone else and I sat alone.
