right in the middle, close enough to see the board without haven to squint, and not too near the back so teachter wondered what I was up to... what about you?
Close enough to the teacher that I looked like a more attentive, eager student than my counterparts in the back row ... but far enough away that the teacher couldn't tell that I was actually writing, and NOT taking notes :-P
firts row, near the window, hence the teacher, to avoid people that cheated in exams poking me to help them (no i was not brilliant student but cheaters always bugged me) plus didnt want to get caught, get in trouble for nothing!
In high school I sat in the back, on the side, by the window, or wherever my friends were sitting; but now in school I sit up front because I'm paying for it and I better get something for all that money!
As far away from attention as I could get. . .and if it was by a window, even better. . . the back always got a lot of attention - and the front always got a lot of attention, so I generally sat in the middle but to the side.
But that never lasted long. . .teaches usually pulled me either up to the front 'so they could keep an eye on me' or they pulled me away from everyone else and I sat alone.
Front or second row, 3/4 to the right. (I don't have any hearing loss, but rely on speech-reading to a surprising degree. I'm also very easily distracted, so being up front makes it a lot easier to pay attention.)
First or second from the front, by the door. I never remember being given a choice in high school -- we were always arranged alphabetically by last name, and my name starts with 'B'. I remember one class, there were a lot of people whose last name started with 'A' so I was halfway back -- it was a real problem because I am near-sighted.
