Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands? ~ Ernest Gaines

Interesting quote, apart from the fact that it doesn't really apply in the UK, as far as my experience has led me to see.

What annoys me about things like this, and I include Women's Rights, Black Rights, and any other -rights you can think of, is that we are all human. Homo-Sapiens, if you will, and at the end of the day, each and every human deserves HUMAN RIGHTS.

Banding together for causes and getting equality in bites is definitely a positive step, but I'd like to see all the separate groups campaigning together for a level playing field for everyone.

I support everybody's right to be.

Well, I have a lot of lady friends who would get off on the holding hands, but I have to say that personally I find the guns much sexier. *smirk*

I am on the same page as you hombre. We all need to work together to make this the best planet for everyone. This includes nature and animals as well in my mind.

I think what I hate most about the country I live in is that it's no longer even socially accepted for me to hate something about my country. People fling terms like "unpatriotic" at you. I have explained to many people that the instant I stop giving a damn about my country I will be living in Canada with one of my numerous friends up there.

The whole thing makes me sick really. I tell myself people fear what they don't understand but you wonder sometimes how things come about. It's easier to fear differences than accept them.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. ~ Theodore Roosevelt

And

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it. ~ Edward R. Murrow

Very well stated and now, GET OUT OF MY HEAD! LOL! I can't tell you how many times I have tried to explain to biggoted pigs the human rights arguement. I didn't think anyone else out there in the world got it. Thank you for being you! ;)
