easy - I believe in fate, in so far as one's life has a certain basic structure, like a sonnet (14 lines and iambic pentameter). However, within that structure, we have infinite free will, room to choose, to say what we have to say.
And I didn't come up with that by myself, but I'm blanking out as to where I got it. I don't think it's Dead Poets society (could possibly be though) but it's something similar like that ... hmm..
