Strive
to be impeccable
Say all you mean
and mean all you say
Each word uttered
has the power to make
or break
your world
Free
your own world
into this world
Never assuming
the minds of others
and never taking
their words
personally
Live
fully in reality
Always doing
the best you can do
taking each moment
knowing yourself
Be aware
of all you can do
to be impeccable
Say all you mean
and mean all you say
Each word uttered
has the power to make
or break
your world
Free
your own world
into this world
Never assuming
the minds of others
and never taking
their words
personally
Live
fully in reality
Always doing
the best you can do
taking each moment
knowing yourself
Be aware
of all you can do

Date: 2006-11-26 05:35 pm (UTC)It hits close to home for me right now. People say very personal and hurtful things without knowing the full effect they have. You regret saying them later because you didn't mean them. You say them to push people away. To "win" a fight. To "hurt" someone the way they "hurt" you. People do it for many reasons. I have only lost my temper and done exactly this intentionally one time and it was very recently. It boiled down to a fear I will not survive this surgery and an oppertunity to push the people I love away so they would be mad at me and not feel a "loss". I know it was unrealistic and follish. I know it was cruel and terrifying for my children. I know it paniced my father and broke my heart. I know it wounded my husband unfairly. However despite wishing I could erase all the damage I had done and being terribly sorry for what I had put them through, my husband made a rather good point... "You can say you didn't mean them and wether you did or not only you know but you can't unring the bell once you've rung it.". People don't realize that everyone in this world carrys the deadliest of weapons with them everyhere they go. Children carry them. Adults carry them. All races, religions, and languages carry them. There are people who use this weapon intentionally every day. People who mean to use it and people who don't realize they are useing it but are delivering equally as fatal blows as those who intentionally use it. The weapon... the one thing that can fataly wound everyone and everyone carries... words.

Date: 2006-11-28 11:41 pm (UTC)It was inspired by "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz... A lot of what you say is in there :)
