It was this canadian children's show called "The Friendly Giant." If you check out YouTube, you should be able to find it. The shows weren't that long - only 15 minutes I believe, but I would sit spellbound for that entire time.
As a child my all time favorite show was probably the Smurfs. I was a big cartoon addict as a child, I actually wrote down what my saturday morning schedule would be after seeing preview lineups from each station on what would be airing each new season.
Overall my favorite was Smurf.
But there has been many favorites over the years: Transformers GoBots (tranformers rip off) G.I. Joe Gummi Bears Ducktales Danger Mouse (yes we got that on this side of the pond but only on cable (nickelodeon) Gumby (claymation) M.A.S.K. Dungeons and Dragons The Lost Cities of Gold (on nickelodeon) Mighty Max (until the crappy ending) Pirates of Dark Water (until the crappy ending) He-Man Pac-Man (loved that cartoon) Superfriends The REAL Ghostbusters Thundercats Voltron
and I'm sure plenty of others that I'm not thinking of at the moment.
I know more smurf trivia than is healthy for most people to know. Smurfs are supposed to be 3 apples tall, but the problem is they never said the type of apple and they were definately smaller than that in the animated cartoon. If you do a size perspective between the smurf's and the non smurf characters such as Azrael, Gargamel, Yohan and Peewee, it's obvious that in the animate cartoon the smurfs were about an apple.5 tall. and that's if you include the hat in their height, without the hat they lose a couple inches because a smurf has a bald blue head.
I miss the smurfs too! They never finished their last adventure on saturday morning cartoons, last I saw the smurfs they were still travelling through time trying to configure those crystals correctly after losing the key.
No there isn't. Smurfs animated series stopped with season 9. the last episode of season 9 did not bring them back. Instead Brainy had another misadventure with Gargamel's Dutch Doppelganger. This is the internet, there are episode guides out there ;)
Dvd box sets are supposed to be released starting this year . And there are some plans for a 3-d animated movie in 2008.
When criminals in this world appear And break the laws that they should fear And frighten all who see or hear The cry goes up both far and near For Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!
Speed of lightning, roar of thunder Fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!
When in this world the headlines read Of those whose hearts are filled with greed Who rob and steal from those who need To right this wrong with blinding speed Goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!
Speed of lightning, roar of thunder Fighting all who rob or plunder Underdog. Underdog!
Fraggle rock, Muppet show, bag puss Rainbow. Willow the wisp. clangers!! but my all time fave was and still is the Wombles! I met them in Edinburgh and caused my sister to not speak to me for a long time!! it ment she missed out on seeing the Bay City Rollers!
Long list over a lot of years. When I was really small I dug anything Spider-Man related, and the Coyote from Looney Tunes. Hong Kong Fooey, Mighty Mouse, Saturday Afternoon Specials. Thundar the Barbarian, Scooby Doo and Spiderwoman (I thought she was hot even at five because she had long hair).
Around 10 years of age, it was Thundercats, Transformers, G.I. Joe and He-Man. Soon after there was She-Ra, because she dressed in skimpy clothes and had long hair.
And now I watch Japanese children/teen's cartoons. But we call it Anime, and we pay lots for DVDs in order to watch foreign kids' shows. Happily, most of the women wear skimpy clothing!
If you ever get the chance, see an Anime called Golden Boy. It's highly perverted, about a young lusty lad who ran away the day he was supposed to graduate with top honours at a law school because life is study. There are six episodes and each one has a hot chick, whom he pursues relentlessly with his heart of gold and horny young male needs. He never gets the girl, but they always want him by the end, when he's already given up and run away again.
Anyway, the art is good, sensual and properly perverted, and it's a lot of fun. Obviously for mature audiences, which means the Japanese could see it at 15/16. ^__^
I love cartoons. I am more apt to watch a cartoon I have never seen over a show I have seen 25 times. Cartoons make me go back in my mind to hearing the washer going, smelling bacon frying, seeing my mom in the kitchen working on breakfast while my biggest worry was that she might ask me to make the toast for everyone...lol. Ah... to be care free, worry free, stress free, and full of fun and giggles! Cartoons rock!
Rainbow Brite. Moondreamers. My little pony. Care bears. Gummy bears. Tale Spin. Winnie the pooh. Dungeons and Dragons. Thundercats. Biker Mice from Mars. He-man. Batman. Spiderman. Gem. Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Power Rangers. Ewoks. Are you afrids of the Dark. Goosebumps. Flintstones. Jetsons. Yogi Bear. Top Cat. Galaxy High. Duck Tales. Saved by the Bell. Clarissa Explains it all. Sabrina the teenage witch. Banana's in pajamas. Teddy Ruxpin.
I loved so many! I've probably missed a huge amount but you name it I've probably watched it xD
