Freedom is a relative thing, afterall, what is freedom to someone living in say Singapore, where everything is monitored and what is freedom to me would be completly different.

I think it is dependent on the country you live in and only as 'Free' as that governments legislates. Lots of us in the Western world, democracies believe we have the right to 'freedom of speech' - we don't, not in practice. The governments let us believe this and give us just enough freedoms to keep us believing this, but as soon as you step on a toe or too it will be yanked away.

All you have to do is looked at what has happened here at LJ recently with deletions of journals to see how thin the fine line of 'freedom of speech' really is.

I love that you are so resolute or should that be absolute in what you think and feel - admirable.

In some situations, abso-fuckin-lutely. But it doesn't seem to hold as true when you express yourself to a "superior" if you're contradicting their views or opinions. There are always too many consequences (many of which are often suffered) in order to truly classify it as "freedom".

Depends, it is ok if you're not hurting anyone or breaking the law.

Sure. No one can stop you from talking. The mistake most people seem to make is in believing that the right to free speech = the right to an audience, a bullhorn and bodyguards to protect them from people who disagree violently with them.
