I get quieter and quieter and quieter...then either burst out in sobs or smash a plate. (My old therapist was Greek...I kid you not...)

Anger automatically means tension for me. I have a tendency not to release tension, and that can cause involuntary release in ways that aren't good. So I usually try to get away from people and release my tension through physical exercise or some other non-destructive way.

Walking away from it (for a while).
Venting to a friend or a loved one about it.
Talking about it after things have calmed down.

Curse a lot (silently, since I have kids running about, lol), vent it out constructively to mi familia to get their advice/input and then do what works best for me to get it resolved.

That depends on a variety of things. What I'm angry about, what time of the month it is, who I'm angry with, etc. Most of the time, though, I rant. A lot. And then distract myself with loud singing, or cleaning, or cuddling kitties.

not really, sometimes if i real confrontational i holler etc, but i dont generally feel confrontational. most of the time people know full well they have pissed me off (if its that kind of anger) iand i generally will blank them until i feel ready to speak to them again.

In other words i sulk :)

I quickly explode in a safe direction, focus on the problem and then move on. I love it! I don't hold too many grudges for too long, if ever. Just "BOOM!" then breakfast.

It takes a lot to get me angry. When I do get angry I go away from everybody and just drive and work out my frustration by singing at the top of my lungs until i start to laugh. I do the same thing if i'm sad, I drive and cry until i start to laugh...Or, I scream into a pillow until i start to laugh...I'm a different duck lol

ahh yes this hit close to home.
i just had an incredibly confrontational week with my partner,
all because of something that mattered to me but not the other way around.
for me angry is so tangible i literally grab it and spew it all over my surroundings.
of course this i realize is completely wrong.
i scream. i curse.
sometimes elegant words fly out of my mouth and impress people.
in the past i have destroyed inanimate objects, sped off in my car, acted reckless.
but honestly as i get older, age too has calmed me. it's strange only recently did a doctor discover that i actually might have a personality disorder, which in turn could explain the angry.
i said explain not excuse. one thing i pride myself on is never making excuses for myself or my conditions.
i should stop because i am making an lj post in your comment section.
(i swear that did not sound that dirty in my head) LOL
hopefully you do not find me crazy now!
thank you for the thought provoking question of the day, this is great, i love doing stuff like this!

trying to cool off being all alone, I try to keep what I think of the situation till the next day, it usually works. I started practising this not so long time ago, before that I used to be just a boiling kettle. trying to learn from what I see, though it's hard.
and when I am the reason of somebody's anger (or at least person thinks so) I try to walk away. or step aside.give time to cool off.
you?

I quickly open the very small door to the vault that houses all the angry stuff. Then I shove the new angries in with the old. I slam the door shut and lock it again.

Fencing, target shooting and bellydancing. I was actually surprised to learn how much of traditional bellydancing is actually intended to be used as an outlet for stress/anger/grief. There are all kinds of trance dances and whatnot specifically geared toward releasing negative emotions. Fencing and shooting help because they focus the negative energy into precision. Fencing and bellydancing also come with a small endorphin rush, which helps a lot, too.

I don't do anger mostly...If something fires me up enough I'll write about it...mostly I get annoyed at stuff...and when I'm annoyed I tend to be snappish...but luckily I have a great guy that always calls me on it so I get over it pretty quick.

Depends on what caused my anger. I usually confront and rant. I take it out on whoever is within close range of my temper. I stomp and slam things. Once I realise what I'm doing I get emotional and cry. Apologise and make amends.

I've come along way to how bad I use to be. I don't get that angry anymore. My parents could probably share some stories of how horrible a brat I could be.

I'm not sure if it's a nursery rhyme or not but I was the epitome of "There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good, but when she was bad, she was horrid."
