There have been more controlled explosions at a hospital, I've just heard on the news.

While this is terrifying, it's great that the police are catching up to these fuckers...

It seems as if the plotters were Doctors...

This is beyond ridiculous.

Say what now??!

Doctors???
Isn't that a little bit stupid after their Socratic Oath thingy??

The world has gone nuts lately. Seriously bloody nuts.

I haven't exactly been keeping up with how many bombs the police are finding...

But I do have one question:

HOW do they know where/when to look?

The first two were luck and public vigilance... The one in Glasgow pretty much hit, even though it didn't hit the way they wanted it to...

Today's have come about from evidence gathered and people arrested...

This is a follow on from this weekends posts about the attempted terrorist attacks in London this weekend...

Two of the people they arrested were Doctors, and they found more devices at the hospital the pair worked at...

Question. It's all over the place that these bombings or attempted bombings are all because of the outrage over the knighting of Rushdie.

What do you think? If this is too sensitive of a subject (being politics and all), then I will understand if you wish not to answer.

Timing wise, it seems more in line with Gordon Brown becoming Prime Minister...

Although, there are a lot of people peeved at Rushdie's Knighthood...

Okay... I know nothing of your new Prime Minister, so I can't understand why they'd be peeved over that. Unless they are doing it for scare tactics since he's new. Though I have heard Tony Blair has been making alot of bold statements lately since he's no longer PM.

I think mainly scare tactics...

With Parliament in a state of flux, I think they wanted to add to the confusion.

The new PM is the old Chancellor (the guy in charge of the Budget under Blair)...He's just taken over the role, he hasn't been elected in by the public and he's just as bad as Blair.

Or at least that seems to be a common consensus :o)

And the scare tactics thing really wouldn't surprise me...

I think that theory (Gordon Brown) is more spot on than the Rushdie thing.  Rushdie becoming a knight isn't going to have any political clout and certainly won't be a factor in tipping the scales one way or the other.

Word is Britain is now reconsidering its pullout of Iraq, which was supposed to complete by December of this year, if I'm not mistaken.  They don't want to give the impression that they're pulling out in response to these attacks, very much like Spain did back in March of 2004 in response to the Madrid train bombings.

Eh, either way, I have to admire Britain's diligence and swiftness in finding these people and the devices.  Good thing Glasgow airport had those security barriers in place as well so that vehicle couldn't get all the way in.  That's something security agencies around the world have been advising the US airports to do, but so far, it seems slow going.

Yeah, those barriers are a good thing!

I think ultimately we'll pull out of Iraq, but yeah, it's going to be delayed for a bit now...

Yeah, that's the word going around the news outfits here.  They'll still pull out, but will delay just long enough to make it understood that Great Britain is pulling out on its own terms on not on the terms of terrorists.  Smart move, although I'm sure it has to be rough on the families of those serving.

The doctor thing doesn't surprise me.  The hospital where Lou works had two doctors suddenly leave country mere hours before 9/11 happened.  One of them turned up on the most wanted list and had proven ties to al-quida.

Crazy times, bro...

Nothing like a few bomb scares to rally a population around a new leader. Mister Brown wasn't exactly popular so it would not surprise me at all if this whole thing has been orchestrated.

I'm not saying I'm right, but just think about how highly unlikely it is that so far they have managed to prevent all those attacks?

Just my two cents.

Oh yeah, I do agree, what ever the reason is that they are able to prevent these attacks from succeeding, I am very glad that they ARE able to do so.

Maybe it is just luck and/or MI5 over there is doing a heck of a good job. I would love to think that they were.

It's a very sad and scary world we live in. Kudos to your vigilant security there.

We have to be careful (ccup, my love) with our unfounded conspiracy theories. Sometimes it's easier to point the blame at the victims.

You're right hon, those theories are unfounded and hopefully totally untrue, but then it's not like anything like that or similar has ever happened before. Anyway, I do apologize if anyone was offended by what I said and do really hope I'm wrong (for everyone's sake).

I love you babe.

Kurt.
