I don't think anyone is ever completely independent. There is always someone to answer to, whether be in the form of a boss, a bill collector, the government (taxes and such). Either that or I am becoming far too cynical in my old age. ;)
Independent spirit, but not independent in all aspects, to be that, then I would have to be able to support myself completly on every level, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially etc. I cannot say I do this, you?
I like to think I am. I know I'm a lot more personally independent than I USED to be. When I have to do things alone, I can. But I definitely prefer having family and friends to lean on when possible. :)
However, I am self sustaining. I am a powerhouse, sexually and emotionally. I absorb peoples energies, and I have learned how to manipulate others energies as well. My ex-girly once accused me of being a sponge because I could not control it. Now, I can.
So while I am NOT independent, and need another to survive and feel safe, and I need others to feel nourished as well, I make you need me too..
I am one of the most independent people I know. Not only in terms of supporting myself, living alone, having a career-- but also in how I think and act. It's taken me a long time to know myself well enough to have the confidence that is required for true independence.
I've actually been accused of being TOO independent, because I like to do everything for myself and I rarely ask for help. And I am very hesistant to involve myself in a serious romantic relationship because I value my independence so much.
No...I don't think i want to be, I have a few people I rely on without letting them get to close (if that makes sence) most of all i need to be the one others depend on.
I learned at an early age that no one was going to take care of me in this world...but me...so yes...I'd say I'm very independent. (That said...Jeff does a spiffy job of taking care of me when I let him!) :D

Nutty
