Oh! And it was a cassette that I'd played OVER and OVER again on my walkman (haha!) to the point of near destruction of the poor thing.

The first record i bought that i can remember was planet rock by Afrika Baambaataa and the soulsonic force, i still have it. First album was Newcleus by Newclues it was an import LP from the USA. my first CD was Oxygene by Jean Michel Jarre and just for good measure by first DVD was region 1 of the matrix.

I also have no idea why i can remember these things.

the first LP that I bought was a multi record collection of classical music that was advertised on TV. Either that or the Disney record with Halloween sound effects and scary stories.

The first tape? Hmmmmm, I don't remember but it was probably classical music. I was fortunate that my older brother and sister purchased many albums and were cool about sharing them.

The first CD? I think it was in 1987 while I was deployed overseas. Uhm, for the life of me I can not remember. Perhaps Cyndi Lauper?

:D

Classical music... Any idea who the composer was?

Cyndi Lauper's forever cool :D

It was one of those compilations of various composers and orchestras.

It was the first recorded music I ever purchased ("Music Box Dancer"). I remember saving my allowance, for what seemed like forever so I could get it.

The first one I ever bought: Guns 'n Roses/Appetite for Destruction on cassette.
